Daniel Missaki
Daniel Missaki (born April 9, 1996) is a Brazilian professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in the Baseball Challenge League for the Tochigi Golden Braves. Career Seattle Mariners Missaki represented Brazil at the 2013 World Baseball Classic, and was the youngest player in the tournament, at just 16 years old. Following the tournament, on June 19, 2013, Missaki signed as an international free agent with the Seattle Mariners. After signing with Seattle, Missaki made his professional debut that season with the AZL Brewers, going 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA in 13 innings pitched. In 2014, he played with the Pulaski Mariners where he pitched to a 6-3 record and a 2.76 ERA in 11 starts, and in 2015, Missaki pitched for the Clinton LumberKings. On May 1, 2015, Missaki and two relievers combined on a no-hitter for the LumberKings against the Cedar Rapids Kernels. Later that month, he underwent Tommy John surgery that ended his season. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the pitcher is assigned the number 1. Adam Lind
Adam Alan Lind (born July 17, 1983) is an American former professional baseball first baseman. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle Mariners and Washington Nationals. Lind has also appeared as a designated hitter and in left field. In 2009, Lind won the Silver Slugger Award and the Edgar Martínez Award. Early life Lind was born in Muncie, Indiana, on July 17, 1983, and later moved to Anderson, Indiana, where he attended Highland High School. He has an older sister, Allison. Lind was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the eighth round (242nd overall) of the 2002 Major League Baseball draft. 2021 World Baseball Classic – Qualification
The qualifying round of the 2023 World Baseball Classic will be held in September 2022. Teams which participated at the 2017 World Baseball Classic automatically qualified for the 2023 tournament. The qualifying round is to consist of two tournaments to be participated by six teams each. The qualifiers were planned to be hosted in Tucson, Arizona in the United States but after the delay, the qualifier hosts were changed to the cities of Regensburg, Germany and Panamá City, Panama. Winners and runners-up of each of the two tournaments were to qualify for the 2023 World Baseball Classic. The 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier is a baseball tournament that was held between January 29 and February 3, 2019 in Ibiúna and São Paulo, Brazil. The tournament qualified the last four teams to the Baseball at the 2019 Pan American Games tournament in Lima, Peru. 2013 World Baseball Classic – Qualification
The Qualifying Round of the 2013 World Baseball Classic was held from September 19 to November 19, 2012. Although the 2006 and 2009 editions of the World Baseball Classic were contested by the same pre-selected field of 16 teams, for the 2013 tournament only the 12 teams that won at least one game in 2009 were guaranteed a berth in the main tournament. The other four ( Canada, Chinese Taipei, Panama, and South Africa) contested the qualifying round along with 12 additional teams invited by the International Baseball Federation (IBAF). The qualifiers were organized as four independent modified double-elimination tournaments featuring four teams each.
