Daniel Kwame Ampofo
Daniel Kwame Ampofo (born 6 May 1950) is a Ghanaian politician and a member of the Fourth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the South Dayi Constituency in the Volta Region of Ghana. Early life and education Ampofo was born in Dayi in the Volta Region of Ghana on 6 May 1950. He attended the University of Ghana and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania and obtained a Masters of Science. Career Ampofo is a chemical engineer by profession. Politics Ampofo is a member of the National Democratic Congress. He was the member of parliament for the South Dayi Constituency in the 3rd parliament of the 4th republic of Ghana after he won in the 2000 Ghanaian general elections. 2000 Elections Ampofo was elected as the member of parliament for the South Dayi constituency in the 2000 Ghanaian general elections. South Dayi District
South Dayi District is one of the eighteen districts in Volta Region, Ghana. Originally it was formerly part of the then-larger Kpando District on 10 March 1989, until the southern part of the district was split off by a decree of president John Agyekum Kufuor on 19 August 2004 to create South Dayi District; thus the remaining part has been retained as Kpando District (which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on 28 June 2012 to become Kpando Municipal District). The district assembly is located in the western part of Volta Region and has Kpeve as its capital town. Background The is one of the eighteen districts in the Volta Region of Ghana. They are made up of 6 municipal and 12 ordinary districts since the referendum and subsequent redemarcation of regions in December 2018. The People's National Convention is a political party in Ghana. After constitutional rule was restored back in Ghana in 1992 the party was formed by former President Hilla Limann based on ideals from the People's National Party (Ghana) which he led in the 1979 elections and won. Convention People's Party
The Convention People's Party (CPP) is a Socialism, socialist political party in Ghana based on the ideas of the first President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah. The CPP was formed in June 1949 after Nkrumah broke away from the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC). Nkrumah was the then appointed Secretaty General of the UGCC when he was arrested by the leader of the UGCC and imprisoned for an alleged thought, plans and power against Kwame Nkrumah's leadership. Kwame Nkrumah then formed the Convention People's Party with support of some UGCC members and had a purpose for self governance. Upon Kwame Nkrumah's leadership with the CPP, he orgranized a non violent protest and strike for support of the purpose for self-governance which took him to imprisonment for a second time, but he was released after winning a massive vote by the CPP following the colonies election general election whilst he was in prison.
