Daniel Ellsworth
Daniel Ellsworth and The Great Lakes (DE+TGL) is an American indie rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2010. The band consists of Daniel Ellsworth (vocals, keys), Timon Lance (guitar), and Marshall Skinner (bass). The band tours extensively around North America and has released four studio albums, including two LPs and one EP: ''Kid Tiger, Civilized Man,'', ''Bemidji'' and ''Fashion.'' DE+TGL most recently released two EPs from an extended body of studio recordings, "Chapter One" and "Chapter Two." Their next album is due out in early 2024. History ''Civilized Man'' (2011-2013) In 2010, the band recorded their debut album ''Civilized Man,'' engineered and co-produced by Mark Nevers who has also worked with Will Oldham, Andrew Bird, Yo La Tengo and Lambchop. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Austin City Limits Music Festival
The Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival is an annual music festival held in Zilker Park in Austin, Texas on two consecutive three-day weekends. Inspired by the KLRU/PBS music series of the same name, the festival is produced by Austin-based company C3 Presents, which also produces Chicago's Lollapalooza. The ACL Music Festival has eight stages where musical groups from genres including rock, indie, country, folk, electronic, and hip hop perform for fans. The concerts continue from 10 AM to 10 PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the festival with various stages spread out in the park. Approximately 450,000 people attend the festival each year. Tarantula (Dylan Book)
''Tarantula'' is an experimental prose poetry collection by Bob Dylan, written in 1965 and 1966. It was published in 1971. It employs stream of consciousness writing, somewhat in the style of Jack Kerouac, William S. Burroughs, and Allen Ginsberg. Its style is also reminiscent of Arthur Rimbaud's in '' A Season in Hell''. One section of the book parodies the Lead Belly song " Black Betty." Reviews of the book liken it to his self-penned liner notes to two of his albums recorded around the same time, '' Bringing It All Back Home'' and ''Highway 61 Revisited''. The book follows a structure similar to that of a few of Dylan's songs; the vague story, references to various historical or made up characters and unusual punctuation. It also uses literary techniques such as allusion, ambiguity, symbolism and fantasy. Bob Dylan (legally Robert Dylan, born Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer-songwriter. Often regarded as one of the greatest songwriters of all time, Dylan has been a major figure in popular culture during a career spanning more than 60 years. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s, when songs such as "Blowin' in the Wind" (1963) and " The Times They Are a-Changin' (1964) became anthems for the civil rights and antiwar movements.
