Daniel Costescu
Daniel Ștefan Costescu (born 14 July 1976) is a Romanian former footballer who usually played as a striker. He scored 46 goals in 235 matches in the Romanian First Division, 47 goals in 141 matches in the Romanian Second Division and 8 goals in 19 matches in the Swiss Third Division. His first match in Divizia A (Romanian First Division) was Olimpia Satu Mare – Petrolul Ploiești 3–0 on 1 August 1998, while playing for Petrolul Ploiești. He was selected once in the Romanian Divisionary National Team (comprising players playing only in the Romanian leagues). Career Born in Câmpina, Prahova county, Costescu began playing football with ''Sterom Câmpina'' in Divizia D (Romanian Fourth Division), and in 1996 he moved to the representative team of the same town, Poiana Câmpina, in Divizia B, the Romanian Second Division. Câmpina () is a city in Prahova County, Romania, north of the county seat Ploiești, located on the main route between Wallachia and Transylvania. The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table. The Liga I was established in 1909 and commenced play for the 1909–10 campaign, being currently on the 29th place in UEFA's league coefficient ranking list. Asociația Sportivă Fotbal Club Urziceni, commonly known as FC Urziceni (), is a Romanian professional football club based in Urziceni, Ialomița County which currently plays in fourth division, Ialomița County. Unirea became national champions in 2009, at the end of their third season in the top-flight. The club was founded in 1954, and spent the majority of its history in the lower tiers of the Romanian league system. In 2006 they reached Liga I for the first time, and received national praise for their results at this level. At the end of their second season in the top division they earned qualification to Europe, and one year later they claimed the domestic title. Paul Constantin Codrea (; born 4 April 1981 in Timișoara) is a Romanian football manager and former player. A former midfielder, he was part of the Romanian squad at UEFA Euro 2008. Playing career Club Paul Codrea started playing football in his hometown at the LPS Banatul Timișoara club. He went to play for Dinamo București, making his Divizia A debut on 1 March 1997 when he came as a substitute and replaced Cătălin Hîldan in a 1–0 loss against Gloria Bistrița. After playing one more game in Divizia A for Dinamo, the club loaned him to play for Politehnica Timișoara in Divizia B. Two seasons later, he returned to play in Divizia A this time, being loaned by Dinamo at Argeș Pitești. Dănuț Coman
Dănuț Dumitru Coman (born 28 March 1979) is a Romanian former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Coman started out as a senior at FC Argeș in the 1997–98 season and also played for Rocar București, Rapid București, Brașov and Vaslui before retiring at Astra Giurgiu aged 36, where he was afterwards offered an administrative position in the club. His career honours include three Cupa României and one Supercupa României, having won three of these trophies during his first spell at Rapid between 2005 and 2008. Adrian Constantin Neaga (born 4 June 1979) is a Romanian football manager and retired player. Playing career Early career Neaga was born in Pitești. Neaga signed his first professional contract with Argeș Pitești in 1997. He was then playing in the same team with Adrian Mutu. He played three games in his first season, scoring a goal, and then played two other games in the first half of the following season, before the club decided to loan him to Dacia Pitești, a club from the second league, where he played 20 games and scored 10 goals, therefore gaining the right to be part of Argeș Pitești again. Adrian Mutu (; born 8 January 1979) is a Romanian professional football manager and former player, who is in charge of Liga I club Rapid București. During his playing career, he was deployed as a forward or an attacking midfielder. Mutu started his career playing two years for Argeș Pitești and half a season for Dinamo București, before joining Inter Milan in Italy midway through the 1999–2000 Serie A. After only ten games with the ''Nerazzurri'', he left for Hellas Verona and then Parma, for which he scored 39 goals in the next three years. Nicolae Dobrin
Nicolae Dobrin (; 26 August 1947 – 26 October 2007) was a Romanian footballer who played as an attacking midfielder and a manager. Nicknamed ''Gâscanul'' ("The Gander") or ''Prințul din Trivale'' ("The Prince of Trivale"), he is considered one of Romania's greatest footballers. Renowned for his dribbling ability, Dobrin received the Romanian Footballer of the Year award on three occasions, in 1966, 1967, and 1971, and has a stadium in native Pitești named after him. FC Steaua București was a Romanian professional football club of which two current entities are claiming the records. The original ''FC Steaua București'' team was part of the namesake CSA Steaua București sports club and belonged to the Ministry of National Defence. In 1998, the club and facilities were separated from the sports club and taken over by a group of shareholders in a post-Ceaușescu privatisation scheme, allegedly leading to one of the shareholders ( Gigi Becali) acquiring full ownership five years later. However, CSA Steaua București sued the football club in 2011, claiming that this was a new entity; the two have since been in a legal conflict regarding the ownership of the Steaua brand and honours, which resulted in multiple court cases and the forced change of the name of ''FC Steaua București'' to FCSB in early 2017.
