Charles Saunders (director)
Charles Joel Saunders (8 April 1904 – 20 April 1997) was an English film director and screenwriter who began in the industry as a film editor, and who also contributed to television. He was the brother of the theatrical producer Sir Peter Saunders. Career Educated at Bedales, Saunders entered the film industry in 1927 and acted as assistant director and editor with such companies as Gaumont-British. His directorial debut was a romantic comedy called ''No Exit'' (which he wrote, produced and directed), about a publisher's daughter who wrongly believes that a humble staff writer of her father's is secretly a best-selling author. Gladys Henson
Gladys Henson (27 September 1897 – 21 December 1982) was an Irish actress whose career lasted from 1932 to 1976 and included roles on stage, radio, films and television series. Among her most notable films were ''The History of Mr. Polly (film), The History of Mr Polly'' (1949) and ''The Blue Lamp'' (1950). Life and career Henson was born Gladys Hilda Barbara Kate Gunn at 4 St Stephen's Green, Dublin, Ireland, the daughter of John Gunn, the director of the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin, Gaiety Theatre, and Hilda Killock. She married English actor Leslie Henson in 1926 (they had a son Joe Henson, Joe in 1932). James Raglan (6 January 1901 – 15 November 1961) was a British stage, film and television actor. In Australia Early in 1935 he was brought out to Australia with the Gabriel Toyne company by J. C. Williamson, playing ''Laburnum Grove'' and Michael Egan's ''The Dominant Sex''. During this time he had appeared in the radio serials The Scarlet Pimpernel and Khyber by Edmund Barclay, in both series opposite Hilda Scurr.
