Danetime
Danetime (1994–2005) was a bay stallion by the Irish champion Danehill out of Allegheny River, a daughter of Lear Fan. He died at the Alwyn Park Stud of a ruptured artery in 2005. His racing record was 15:3-3-3, including some Group 2 wins, most notably the Stewards' Cup. During his racing career, he was owned by Mrs John Magnier & Michael Tabor. He was sold in 1999 and retired to stud in Ireland and in Australia. He was successful at stud, siring mostly sprint winners and a number of successful two-year-olds. Shortly after his death, his son Myboycharlie Myboycharlie (foaled 20 April 2005) is an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. Myboycharlie
Myboycharlie (foaled 20 April 2005) is an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He was one of the best two-year-olds of his generation in Europe when he won his first three races including the Anglesey Stakes and the Prix Morny. He did not live up to his early promise and failed to win again before being retired from racing at the end of the following year. He stood as a breeding stallion in Australia, England, France and Turkey and has had considerable success as a sire of winners. Background Myboycharlie is a bay horse with no white markings bred in Ireland by Denis Noonan of the County Cork-based Cregg Stud. In November 2005 the foal was consigned to the Goffs sale and was bought for €13,000 by the Tally-Ho Stud. Stewards' Cup (Great Britain)
The Stewards' Cup is a flat handicap horse race in Great Britain open to horses aged three years or older. It is run at Goodwood over a distance of 6 furlongs (1,207 metres), and it is scheduled to take place each year in late July or early August. History For several years in the 1830s the senior steward at Goodwood presented an annual cup to the winner of any race of his choosing. The choice varied each year, and the trophy was awarded for events with distances of up to 1½ miles. A perpetual race for the Stewards' Cup over a sprint distance of 6 furlongs was conceived by Lord George Bentinck in late 1839, and the inaugural running took place the following summer. Danehill (March 26, 1986 – May 13, 2003) was an American-bred Thoroughbred racehorse who was the most successful sire of all time with 349 stakes winners and 89 Grade 1 winners. He was the leading sire in Australia nine times, the leading sire in Great Britain and Ireland three times, and the leading sire in France twice. Background Danehill was a bay stallion by leading sire Danzig (by Northern Dancer) out of Razyana (by His Majesty). Danehill was inbred twice to Natalma in the third generation (3x3) of his pedigree. Lear Fan
Lear Fan (2 February 1981 – 7 July 2008) was an American-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. One of an exceptionally strong generation of European racehorses he was one of the leading two-year-olds when he was unbeaten in three races including the Champagne Stakes. In the following year he defeated Rainbow Quest in the Craven Stakes before finishing third to El Gran Senor and Chief Singer in the 2000 Guineas. He recorded his most valuable success later that year when defeating Palace Music in the Prix Jacques Le Marois. At the end of his three-year-old season he was retired to stud in Kentucky where he proved to be a successful sire of winners. He was retired from stud duty in 2004 and died four years later. John Magnier
John Magnier (born 10 February 1948; also known as "The Boss") is an Irish business magnate. He is Ireland's leading thoroughbred stud owner and has extensive business interests outside the horse-breeding industry. Magnier has also been a Senator in the upper house of the Irish Parliament, Seanad Éireann. He is based at Coolmore Stud at Fethard in County Tipperary, considered one of the world's pre-eminent stallion stations, and a nursery of thoroughbreds.
