Dandara Touré
Dandara Touré (born 1 October 1951) is a Malian politician. Touré has worked in education and women's rights for many years. She was appointed Minister for the Promotion of Women, Children and the Family in the cabinet of Cissé Mariam Kaïdama Sidibé on 16 February 2012. The 2012 Malian coup d'état meant that she was removed from office just 34 days later. Touré has since campaigned for democratic reforms in the country, opposing changes to the constitution which would have increased the powers of the president. Career Touré was born in Kita on 1 October 1951 in what was then known as French Sudan. She was awarded a bachelor's degree in 1973 and a master's degree from the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Bamako in 1977. Touré taught biology in Malian public schools before studying for a second master's degree in public health with a specialism in nutrition from Indiana University Bloomington. Cissé Mariam Kaïdama Sidibé
Cissé Mariam Kaïdama Sidibé (4 January 1948 – 6 November 2021) was a Malian politician and the Prime Minister of Mali at the time of the 2012 Malian coup d'état. She was the first female prime minister in the country's history. She was announced to the position by decree on 3 April 2011, replacing Modibo Sidibé. She held the position for slightly less than a year under the presidency of Amadou Toumani Touré before she was removed from office in the 22 March 2012 coup. Bambara Language
Bambara (Arabic script: ), also known as Bamana (N'Ko script: ) or Bamanankan (), is a lingua franca and national language of Mali spoken by perhaps 15 million people, natively by 5 million Bambara people and about 10 million second-language users. It is estimated that about 80 percent of the population of Mali speak Bambara as a first or second language. It has a subject–object–verb clause structure and two lexical tones. Classification Bambara is a variety of a group of closely related languages called Manding, whose native speakers trace their cultural history to the medieval Mali Empire.
