Dan Walmsley
Dan Walmsley is a Melbourne-based comedian, writer, musician and improvisor. He is also the creator of Planet Nerd, an RMITV show on Community station C31 Melbourne. Dan studied Honours in Software Engineering at Monash University in Melbourne. He was involved in performing acts of comedy and music from early on, and was performing on stage to audiences during his years at university. Since then he has been involved in multifarious music and comedy projects, including the bands Jem and The Debacles (www.thedebacles.com), the comedy project 'Pink Horse of Whimsy' (pinkhorseofwhimsy.com), and performing improvised comedy at the Comic's Lounge in Melbourne. His comedy style includes sharp-edge political satire, and nerdy surrealist. His remarkably tall and gangly frame, 6'5" aids delivery of awkward physical jokes. References External links

Planet Nerd
''Planet Nerd'' is a television comedy variety programme broadcast on Channel 31 Melbourne produced by RMITV. It stars local Melbourne comedians Dan Walmsley, Paul Verhoeven, Ben McKenzie, Simon Barber, Jason English-Rees, Andrew Doodson, Lou Pardi, and Rob Lloyd, and features other local Melbourne talent as well. Segments from the program are uploaded to YouTube, and there is also an official video podcast. Planet Nerd was nominated for Best Comedy Program in the 2008 Antenna Awards, which celebrate the best of Australian community television, though they did not win the award. On 17 September 2008, a new interview with Rocket Boom creator, Andrew Baron, was posted on the ''Planet Nerd'' web site. While no other new content has appeared, the original twelve episodes were repeated multiple times by Channel 31, as late as June 2009. It was also broadcast on Triangle TV in New Zealand in 2007. RMITV is a not-for-profit, community access television production facility based at RMIT University City Campus in Melbourne, Australia. It is a full member of the Melbourne Community Television Consortium, a not-for-profit consortium that operates the community access channel C31 which broadcasts throughout Melbourne and Geelong. About RMITV is a student run media production house based within RMIT University, with the majority of its funding granted by RMIT University Student Union (RUSU). RMITV is dedicated to providing hands on television experience to students. RMITV also produces content to be broadcast, most commonly on C31 Melbourne and have helped many students find their way to careers in the television industry. C31 Melbourne is a free-to-air community television channel in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
