Dan Turner (born 9 February 1980) (also known as Otaihanga Dan, Diesel Turbo, Dulcet Tones, DT or the Detonator) is a New Zealand born Scotland A international rugby union player who played for Glasgow Warriors at the Lock position. He played for Canterbury University in New Zealand and was part of the Canterbury Crusaders development squad. People With AIDS (PWA) means " person with HIV/AIDS", also sometimes phrased as, Person Living with AIDS. It is a term of self-empowerment, adopted by those with the virus in the early years of the pandemic (the 1980s), as an alternative to the passive implications of "AIDS patient". The phrase arose largely from the ACT UP activist community, however use of the term may or may not indicate that the person is associated with any particular political group. The PWA self-empowerment movement believes that those living with HIV/AIDS have the human rights to "take charge of their own life, illness, and care, and to minimize dependence on others". The predominant attitude is that one should not assume that one's life is over and will end soon solely because they have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. Daniel Edward Morgan Turner, professionally known as Dan Turner, is a UK-based film director. Born in Essex, Turner excelled at English literature and participated in local theatre. It was not until 2004, after many short films, that Dan first made the feature film ''Experiment'' in 2005. He has since directed the 2008 film ''Look at Me'', and the 2009 release ''Big Mistake''. In 2010 Turner made the horror feature film ''Stormhouse'', which was selected for the Edinburgh Film Festival and Frightfest in London, and in 2011 Dan directed a feature film of his semi-biographical screenplay '' The Man Inside'' starring Peter Mullan, David Harewood, Ashley "Bashy" Thomas, Michelle Ryan and Jason Maza. Daniel Graham Turner (born 23 June 1998) is an English semi-professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Chester. Turner turned professional at Port Vale in April 2016 and played on loan at Kidsgrove Athletic and Worcester City during the 2016–17 season. He joined Tamworth on loan in January 2018. He joined Scottish Championship club Falkirk on a six-month loan at the start of the 2018–19 season, later cut short three months early. He was released by Port Vale and joined Hyde United in August 2019 before moving on to Matlock Town in March 2020. He switched to Hednesford Town in June 2020 and signed with Leamington in January 2021. He won the Birmingham Senior Cup with Leamington in 2022. Dan Turner, also known as the Hollywood Detective, was a fictional private detective created by Robert Leslie Bellem. His first appearance was in the second issue of the pulp magazine ''Spicy Detective'', dated June 1934, and he continued to appear regularly in that magazine (which was retitled ''Speed Detective'' in 1943) until its demise in February 1947. He also appeared in his "own" magazine, ''Hollywood Detective'', which was published by Culture Publications (later Trojan Publishing) and ran from January 1942 to October 1950.
