Daniel Ryan (born c. 1930 - died February 15, 1961) was an American ice dancer who competed with partner Carol Ann Peters. After his competitive career ended, Ryan became a skating coach. He was en route to the World Figure Skating Championships in 1961 with his pupils, Larry Pierce and Diane Sherbloom, when their plane (Sabena Flight 548 Sabena Flight 548 was a Boeing 707-329 flight operated by Sabena that crashed en route from New York City to Brussels, Belgium, on February 15, 1961. Daniel Ryan (born 1968 as Daniel O'Brien) is an English actor and writer. He is known for starring as Darren Alexander in the BBC drama comedy ''Linda Green'', Andrew Gilligan in ''The Government Inspector'', Andy Coulson in '' Steel River Blues'' and Kenny Reed in ''The Whistleblowers''. His stage credits include '' Macbeth'', '' A Midsummer Night's Dream'' and '' Richard III''. Early life Ryan was born in Culcheth near Warrington, Cheshire to parents who owned a bingo hall. Dan Ryan is an Australian netball player, coach, sports journalist and broadcaster. He is currently the head coach of the West Coast Fever in the Australian Suncorp Super Netball competition. He was head coach of Manchester Thunder during the 2016 Netball Superleague season when they finished top of the table during the regular season and runners up in the grand final. He was subsequently head coach of Adelaide Thunderbirds for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Ryan defeated Multnomah County Commissioner Loretta Smith in a runoff election to succeed Nick Fish, who died of stomach cancer on January 2, 2020.
