Dan Patterson
Dan Patterson (born March 1960) is a British television producer and writer, responsible for the production of both the British and American incarnations of the improvisation show ''Whose Line Is It Anyway?'' and the British satirical panel show ''Mock the Week'' with writing partner Mark Leveson. He has also written for episodes of both shows. He co-created ''Whose Line Is It Anyway?'' alongside Mark Leveson, initially on BBC radio before moving with it to Channel 4, and then onward to ABC. In 2004, he established Angst Productions, which is responsible for ''Mock the Week''. In October 2013, the play ''The Duck House'', a farcical political satire which he wrote alongside '' Have I Got News for You'' writer Colin Swash, embarked on a five-week tour before transferring to the Vaudeville Theatre in London's West End through Spring 2014. Television Producer
A television producer is a person who oversees one or more aspects of video production on a television show, television program. Some producers take more of an executive role, in that they conceive new programs and pitch them to the television networks, but upon acceptance they focus on business matters, such as budgets and contracts. Other producers are more involved with the day-to-day workings, participating in activities such as screenwriting, Scenic design, set design, Casting (performing arts), casting, and directing. There are a variety of different producers on a television show. A traditional producer is one who manages a show's budget and maintains a schedule, but this is no longer the case in modern television. BBC Two
BBC Two is a British free-to-air public broadcast television network owned and operated by the BBC. ''Fast and Loose'' is a British television series which was broadcast on BBC Two in 2011. Conceived by Dan Patterson, one of the creators of the TV series ''Whose Line Is It Anyway?'', it mirrors the series in format and style with the addition of some new games. Guests take part in improvised sketches in which each comedian inhabits a certain character or film genre. The only series was eight episodes long and hosted by comedian Hugh Dennis. ''Fast and Loose'' is the inspiration for the 2012 American show '' Trust Us with Your Life'' on ABC, hosted by Fred Willard and featuring a celebrity guest on each episode. ''The Sketch Show'' is a British television sketch comedy programme, featuring many leading British comedians. It aired on ITV between 2001 and 2004. The show was first commissioned in 2001 and was co-produced by a company owned by Steve Coogan. Despite the first series winning the BAFTA Television Award for Best Comedy, the second series was cancelled due to poor viewing figures. Lee Mack states in his autobiography ''Mack The Life'' that the final two episodes have never been broadcast. A spinoff of the same title was produced in the United States. ''Room 101'' is a BBC comedy television series based on the radio series of the same name, in which celebrities are invited to discuss their pet hates and persuade the host to consign those hates to oblivion in Room 101, a location whose name was inspired by the torture room in George Orwell's 1949 novel ''Nineteen Eighty-Four'' which reputedly contained "the worst thing in the world".
