Dan Onuorah Ibekwe
Dan Onuorah Ibekwe, was a Nigerian Jurist, former President of the Nigerian courts of appeals and Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He was succeeded by Justice Nasir Mamman following his demise in 1978. Life Daniel Onwurah Ibekwe was born on 23 June 1919, in Onitsha, the son of Akukalia and Amaliwu Ibekwe. He started primary education at St Mary's School and then attended Christ the King College both schools are in Onitsha. Furthering his education, he studied law at the Council of Legal Education, London. He was called to the bar in 1951. He started practicing law in the private firm of John Idowu Conrad Taylor but later moved to Aba in 1954. He joined the regional public service in 1956 as a legal adviser to the premier of the region and from 1958 to 1964, he was Solicitor General and Permanent Seceretary, Ministry of Justice, Eastern Region. Nasir Mamman
Nasir Mamman GCON (2 July 1929 – 13 April 2019), titled Galadiman Katsina from 1992 to 2019, was a Nigerian jurist and nobleman who served as President of the Courts of Appeal from 1978 to 1992. Biography Mamman was born in 1929 in Katsina. He graduated in 1947 from Kaduna College (later Barewa College) and read Latin at the University College of Ibadan. He was instructed in the law and called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1956. Mamman, Mohammed Bello, and Justice Buba Ardo went on to become the first northerners educated in the common law to be in-government since the fall of the Sokoto Caliphate. Onitsha ( or just ''Ọ̀nị̀chà'') is a city located on the eastern bank of the Niger River, in Anambra State, Nigeria. A metropolitan city, Onitsha is known for its river port and as an economic hub for commerce, industry, and education. Anambra State, Nigeria
Anambra State is a Nigerian state, located in the southeastern region of the country. The state was created on August 27, 1991. Anambra state is bounded by Delta State to the west, Imo State to the south, Enugu State to the east and Kogi State to the north. John Taylor (Nigerian Judge)
John Idowu Conrad Taylor (24 August 1917 – 7 November 1973) was a Nigerian jurist, Judge of the Supreme Court of Nigeria (1964 to 1967), and the first Chief Justice of Lagos State (1967 to 1973). Education and early life John Taylor was born in Lagos and was the fourth child of Eusebius James Alexander Taylor (a prominent lawyer and nationalist) and Remilekun Alice Taylor (née Williams). He attended Olowogbowo Methodist School for his primary education and Methodist Boys High School for part of his secondary education. He left for England in 1929 where he completed his secondary education at Culford School in Bury St. Edmunds, between April 1929 and July 1936. Murtala Muhammed
Murtala Ramat Muhammad (8 November 1938 – 13 February 1976) was a Nigerian general who led the 1966 Nigerian counter-coup in overthrowing the Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi military regime and featured prominently during the Nigerian Civil War and thereafter ruled over Nigeria from 30 July 1975 until his assassination on 13 February 1976. This period in Nigerian history, from the Northern counter-coup victory to Murtala's death, is commonly associated with the institutionalization of the military in politics. Nigerians or the Nigerian people are citizens of Nigeria or people with ancestry from Nigeria. The name Nigeria was taken from the Niger River running through the country.
