Dan Moylan
Daniel Joseph Moylan (22 November 1915 – 20 February 1992), known as Cooper Moylan, was an Irish hurler who played for Cork Senior Championship club Glen Rovers. He was also a member of the Cork senior hurling team at various times and usually lined out as a forward. Career Moylan first came to prominence as a hurler during his schooldays at the North Monastery. He was on "the Mon" Harty Cup-winning teams in 1934 and 1935. At club level Moylan was one of the stalwarts of the Glen Rovers team and won seven consecutive County Senior Championship titles. He also enjoyed championship success with the St. Nicholas' club as a Gaelic footballer. After an unsuccessful one-year tenure with the Cork minor hurling team in 1933, Moylan joined the senior team in 1938. His three seasons with the team saw him win two National League titles and a Munster Championship medal as a reserve. Glen Rovers GAA
Glen Rovers is a Cork (city), Cork-based Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Blackpool, Cork, Ireland. The club was founded in 1916 and is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. They were Cork senior hurling champions in 2015 and 2016, having won their first title in 26 years in 2015. They retained the championship in 2016, when they beat Erin's Own in the final. Only Blackrock have won more Cork senior hurling championships. Hurling Colours In the early days of the club, its colours were green, white and gold. The Easter Rising and the execution of the leaders took place in the same year the Glen was founded. These events left such an impression on the minds of the Irish public that it was decided to add a black band to the jersey to honour the recently deceased patriots. The 1939 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 53rd staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. The championship began on 7 May 1939 and ended on 3 September 1939. Dublin entered the championship as the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Kilkenny in the Leinster final. The All-Ireland final was played on 3 September 1939 at Croke Park in Dublin, between Kilkenny and Cork, in what was their first meeting in a final in nine years. Kilkenny won the match by 2-07 to 3-03 to claim their 12th championship title overall and a first title since 1935. The 1939 All-Ireland final remains one of the most iconic of all time. Cork Intermediate Football Championship
The Cork Intermediate A Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as Bon Secours Cork County Intermediate A Football Championship and abbreviated to the Cork IAFC) is an annual Gaelic football competition organised by the Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the second tier intermediate clubs in the county of Cork in Ireland. It is the fourth tier overall in the entire Cork football championship system. The Cork Intermediate Championship was introduced in 1909 as a competition that would bridge the gap between the senior grade and the junior grade. At the time of its creation it was the second tier of Cork football. In its current format, the Cork Intermediate Championship begins in mid summer.
