Dan Krauss
Dan Krauss is an American film director and cinematographer. Biography Krauss is best known for his two Academy Awards, Oscar-nominated documentary films ''The Death of Kevin Carter: Casualty of the Bang Bang Club, The Death of Kevin Carter'' (2005), and ''Extremis (film), Extremis'' (2016) in the Academy Award for Best Documentary (Short Subject) category at the 78th Academy Awards, 78th and 89th Academy Awards respectively. In 2014, Krauss directed the feature documentary, ''The Kill Team (2013 film), The Kill Team'', winner of the Independent Spirit Awards' Truer than Fiction Award and Grand Jury Prize at the Tribeca Film Festival. The UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism is a graduate professional school on the campus of University of California, Berkeley. It is among the top graduate journalism schools in the United States, and is designed to produce journalists with a two-year Master of Journalism (MJ) degree. Tribeca Film Festival
The Tribeca Festival is an annual film festival organized by TriBeCa Productions, Tribeca Productions. It takes place each spring in New York City, showcasing a diverse selection of film, episodic, talks, music, games, art, and immersive programming. ''5B'' is a 2018 American documentary film directed by Dan Krauss and Paul Haggis about the efforts of a group of nurses and caregivers who opened the first AIDS ward in the world at San Francisco General Hospital and changed the way patients were cared for in the 1980s AIDS epidemic. Verizon Media, with the help of Johnson & Johnson and Academy Award winner Julianne Moore, announced during its Newfront event in New York City on April 30, 2019, that it had acquired and planned to release the documentary. ''The Kill Team'' is a 2019 American war drama film written and directed by Dan Krauss. It is a fictionalized adaptation of the Maywand District murders, which were also explored by Krauss's 2013 documentary of the same name. ''Inequality for All'' is a 2013 documentary film directed by Jacob Kornbluth and narrated by American economist, author and professor Robert Reich. The Independent Spirit Awards (abbreviated Spirit Awards and originally known as the FINDIE or Friends of Independents Awards), founded in 1984, are awards dedicated to independent filmmakers. Winners were typically presented with Poly(methyl methacrylate), acrylic glass pyramids containing suspended shoestrings representing the bare budgets of independent films.
