Dan Houx is an American politician and businessman serving as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from the 54th district. Elected in 2016, he assumed office in January 2017. Early life and education Houx was born and raised in Warrensburg, Missouri. He graduated from the Kemper Military School in Boonville, Missouri. Career In addition to his career in politics, Houx has worked as a homebuilder, real estate developer, and real estate agent. Houx was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2016, defeating Democratic nominee Bob Gregory. He was re-elected in 2018, 2020, and 2022. Warrensburg is a city in and the county seat of Johnson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 20,313 at the 2020 census. The Warrensburg Micropolitan Statistical Area consists of Johnson County. The city is a college town as it is home to the University of Central Missouri. Kemper Military School & College was a private military school located in Boonville, Missouri. Founded in 1844, Kemper filed for bankruptcy and closed in 2002. Boonville is a city and the county seat of Cooper County, Missouri, United States. The population was 7,964 at the 2020 census. The city was the site of a skirmish early in the Civil War, on July 17, 1861. Union forces defeated the Missouri State Guard in the first Battle of Boonville.
