Dan Heimiller
Daniel Heimiller (born June 25, 1962) is an American professional poker player who won the Limit Hold'em & Seven-Card Stud event at the 2002 World Series of Poker and the Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship in 2014. He has at least one WSOP cash for 25 consecutive years (1997-2021). He is ranked 5th in all time number of live tournament cashes and 12th in all time number of WSOP cashes. Heimiller was born in California and raised in Livonia, Michigan. At one time he was a Las Vegas Cab driver as well as an industrial engineer. For over 30 years he has been playing a variety of poker events which includes the World Series of Poker (WSOP), the World Poker Tour (WPT) and the Professional Poker Tour (PPT). Dan Heimiller won Best All Around Player at the Commerce Casino in 1999. He has won 42 of the 417 tournaments he cashed in, and in one two-year period, Heimiller won nine tournaments and appeared at 33 final tables. Dr. Max Stern is a professional poker player, pediatrician and author. He is the co-author of ''Championship Stud'', with Tom McEvoy and Linda Johnson. Stern contributed to the sections on Seven-card stud and Seven-card stud (8 or better) tournament and ring game play. PokerStars Caribbean Adventure
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure was an annual televised poker tournament. The event was first held in 2004 and was originally co-sponsored by PokerStars and the World Poker Tour. In 2008, the event moved from the WPT to the European Poker Tour. In 2010, the event was moved again and served as the inaugural event of the North American Poker Tour. In 2017 the tournament was the inaugural event of the new PokerStars Championship tour and renamed PokerStars Championship Bahamas. The name was changed back to the PCA for 2018 and the buy-in restored to $10,000. In 2004, the event took place on the Royal Caribbean ''Voyager of the Seas'' cruise ship. European Poker Tour
The European Poker Tour (EPT) is a series of poker tournaments similar to those in the World Poker Tour (WPT), created by John Duthie, winner of the inaugural Poker Million tournament. It began in 2004 as part of the worldwide explosion in Texas Hold 'em popularity. Since 2011 the EPT has been sponsored and wholly owned and controlled by PokerStars the online casino and taped by Sunset + Vine for television broadcast across Europe. In seasons 1-3, the most significant difference between the competing poker tours was the buy-in and its effect on the prize pool, with the EPT featuring buy-ins about half the size of the WPT. This changed in season 4 when the buy-in for most EPT events was increased to €8,000 (due to increased popularity and lack of space in participating casinos). The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) is an online poker tournament series sponsored by PokerStars. It is played on the PokerStars website in September. Seven-card stud, also known as Seven-Toed Pete or Down-The-River is a variant of stud poker. Before the 2000s surge of popularity of Texas hold 'em, seven-card stud was the most widely played poker variant in home games across the United States, and in casinos in the eastern part of the country. Although seven-card stud isn't as common in casinos today, it is still played online. The game is commonly played with two to eight players, though eight may require special rules for the last cards dealt if no players fold. The 2010 World Series of Poker was the 41st annual World Series of Poker (WSOP), held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Paradise, Nevada, and ran from May 28 to July 17. There were 57 bracelet events, culminating in the $10,000 No Limit Hold'em Championship that began on July 5. Barry Shulman
Barry Shulman (born May 8, 1946) is an American poker player who has enjoyed success in competitive poker tournaments over the past 15 years, and is the CEO of CardPlayer Magazine. Life and career Shulman was born in Seattle, Washington. He began playing poker while studying at college in the 1960s. He worked in real estate for 25 years before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in the early 1990s. He used his retirement funds to purchase Card Player in 1999. Shulman first finished in the money in a World Series of Poker (WSOP) event in 1997 at the $3,000 pot limit hold'em event. He has gone on to cash another 11 times since then, and won a bracelet at the 2001 World Series of Poker in the $1,500 seven card stud hi-lo split 8 or better event.
