Dan Hawkins (musician)
Daniel Francis Hawkins (born 12 December 1976) is an English guitarist, best known as a guitarist and backing singer of the rock band The Darkness. The band, founded and fronted by his older brother Justin Hawkins, achieved notable mainstream success between 2002 and 2006. He also formerly played lead guitar for Stone Gods. Musical style and influences He is influenced by hard rock and glam metal bands, including Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, AC/DC, Queen, Mötley Crüe and Thin Lizzy. Rock Am Ring
The (German for "Rock at the Ring") and ("Rock in the Park") festivals are two simultaneous rock music festivals held annually. While ''Rock am Ring'' takes place at the Nürburgring race track, ''Rock im Park'' takes place at the Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg. Sharing nearly identical lineups, the two festivals are usually regarded as one event. All artists perform one day at the Nürburgring and another day in Nürnberg during the three-day event. There have been minor exceptions in the past years where an artist would be announced for one of the festivals only. Queen (band)
Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals) and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), later joined by John Deacon (bass). Their earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock. Before forming Queen, May and Taylor had played together in the band Smile. Mercury was a fan of Smile and encouraged them to experiment with more elaborate stage and recording techniques. He joined in 1970 and suggested the name "Queen". Deacon was recruited in February 1971, before the band released their eponymous debut album in 1973. Silver Spoons & Broken Bones
''Silver Spoons & Broken Bones'' is the only studio album by East Anglian band Stone Gods and was released on July 7, 2008 through Play It Again Sam. It is the band's first full-length album. Two of the songs, "Burn the Witch" and "You Brought a Knife to a Gunfight", were previously released on the limited edition '' Burn the Witch EP''. The album started pretty much from day one of Stone Gods. After forming, they wrote around 35 songs during the making of the album. It was recorded at Dan Hawkins's home studio, Leeders Farm. The first single from the album, "Knight of the Living Dead", was released on 23 June 2008. The album was leaked nearly a month early, on 12 June 2008. The second single from the album " Don't Drink The Water" was released on 27 October 2008. The next single release was "Start of Something". Dan Hawkins
Danny Clarence Hawkins (born November 10, 1960) is an American football coach at UC Davis. A former player and sportscaster, he served as the head football coach at Willamette University (1993–1997), Boise State University (2001–2005), and the University of Colorado (2006–2010), compiling a career college football record of 112–61–1. Hawkins was the head coach of the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL) for five games in 2013 before he was fired mid-season. Richie Edwards
Richie Edwards (born 25 September 1974) is an English musician. He is the former bassist of the British hard rock band The Darkness and the guitarist/vocalist of their successor band Stone Gods. He was confirmed as a member on 13 June 2005 replacing Frankie Poullain on bass. When The Darkness disbanded following Justin Hawkins' departure, Edwards switched to lead vocals with Toby McFarlaine taking over on bass. With original Darkness members Ed Graham and Dan Hawkins completing the new line-up, they recorded under the new name of The Stone Gods. Edwards grew up in Lichfield, Staffordshire and was a member of bands at Netherstowe School. Subsequently, on leaving school he was employed in S&J Music, a local music shop on Bird Street and was involved in other local bands, including Gloy, who almost secured a recording deal themselves. Frankie Poullain
Francis Gilles Poullain-Patterson (born 15 April 1967), better known as Frankie Poullain, is the bass player for rock band The Darkness. He was raised in Milnathort then Edinburgh, Scotland. He attended the Royal High School, leaving in 1985. Poullain was the only original Darkness member not from the Lowestoft area. Poullain left the band on 23 May 2005, citing "musical differences" as the reason. He was replaced by Richie Edwards, a former guitar technician for the band. His departure caused quite a stir with the press, most notably in the ''NME'' magazine where he was reportedly regarded as their favourite member of the band. Edwin James Graham (born 20 February 1977) is an English musician who is best known as the original drummer of the rock band the Darkness, as well as the subsequent successor band Stone Gods fronted by guitarist and singer Richie Edwards. Early life Graham grew up in Oulton Broad in Lowestoft, attending Kirkley High School with the Hawkins brothers. Not particularly sporty, Graham would spend his break times isolated in the music room where he began to play the drums. After school Graham studied art at Lowestoft College. Kirkley Community High School
East Point Academy is an academy sponsored by the Inspiration Trust, located in the Kirkley district of Lowestoft, in the English county of Suffolk. It educates children from ages 11 to 16. In its latest Ofsted inspection in October 2016, the academy overall was rated as "Good".
