Dan Biocchi
Dan Biocchi is a Canadian politician and reserve member of the Canadian 4 x 100m relay team at the 1976 Olympic Games. He was a candidate in the 2004 Canadian federal election and has advocated for proportional representation and Latin American issues. Biocchi was born November 28, 1955 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He emigrated to Montreal, Quebec in August 1962. Biocchi received a master's degree in political science from the University of Alberta. He taught political science at McGill University and Marianopolis College in Montreal while working on his doctorate at McGill. He has been a Latin American correspondent with Associated Press. Biocchi is the founder of the Ottawa chapter of Fair Vote Canada, an organization that lobbies for proportional representation. The 2006 Ottawa municipal election was held on November 13, 2006, in Ottawa, Canada, to elect the mayor of Ottawa, Ottawa City Council and the Ottawa-Carleton Public and Catholic School Boards. The election was one of many races across the province of Ontario. See 2006 Ontario municipal elections. The race featured three main candidates: incumbent mayor Bob Chiarelli, former Kanata councillor Alex Munter and businessman Larry O'Brien (Canadian politician), Larry O'Brien. The race began as a fight between Chiarelli and Munter, with Munter getting the edge and 2003 candidate Terry Kilrea in a close third. Cumberland Ward
Cumberland ( ) is a historic county in the far North West England. It covers part of the Lake District as well as the north Pennines and Solway Firth coast. Cumberland had an administrative function from the 12th century until 1974. From 1974 until 2023, Cumberland lay within Cumbria, a larger administrative area which also covered Westmorland and parts of Yorkshire and Lancashire.
