Lockney is a town in Floyd County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,842 at the 2010 census, down from 2,056 at the 2000 census. Geography Lockney is located in northwestern Floyd County at (34.122961, –101.443414). The Colorado State Rams football program (established 1893) represents Colorado State University and is a member of the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision and the Mountain West Conference.
