Damon Mirani
Damon Mirani (born 13 May 1996) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Eredivisie club Volendam. Club career Ajax Mirani began his football career in the under-8 of VV Monnickendam before moving to Volendam. At the end of the 2011–12 season, he was admitted to the Ajax academy. On 15 March 2013, he signed his first professional contract with the club, binding him to the club until 30 June 2016. At the end of the 2012–13 season, Mirani was crowned '' Talent van De Toekomst'' (Talent of the Future) while playing for Ajax B1, the under-17 team. Mirani began the 2013–14 season playing for Ajax Youth Academy, Ajax A1, the under-19 team. With the unavailability of several players, he made his professional debut for Jong Ajax against Achilles '29 in an Eerste Divisie match on 8 September 2013, coming on for Tom Noordhoff as a half-time substitute. Monnickendam
Monnickendam () is a city in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Waterland, and lies on the coast of the Markermeer, about southeast of Purmerend. It received city rights in 1355 and was damaged by the fires of 1500 and 1513. History Monnikendam was also the name of a number of warships built at the port of the same name during the Anglo-Dutch Wars. The town was founded by monks, the name Monnickendam translates as 'Monk's dam'. Monnickendam was a separate municipality until 1991, when it was merged into Waterland. Although it is a small fishing village today, it was an important port in earlier centuries. It possesses a seventeenth-century weigh house, once used by merchants and port officials, and a bell tower that dates from 1591. Tom Noordhoff (born 19 July 1995) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for FC Lisse in the Derde Divisie. Club career Ajax On 11 May 2012, Noordhoff signed a three-year contract with Ajax, tying him down to the club until 30 June 2015. He made his debut for Jong Ajax in an Eerste Divisie match against Achilles '29 on 8 September 2013. He made a total of 15 appearances playing for the reserves team in the Dutch second division, while unable to break into the first team, his contract was not extended. Telstar On 29 April 2015 it was announced that Noordhoff would return to SC Telstar, the club he had joined Ajax from during his youth years. The 2022–23 Eredivisie is the 67th season of Eredivisie, the premier football competition in the Netherlands. It began on 5 August 2022 and will conclude on 28 May 2023. As the 2022 FIFA World Cup will start on 20 November, the last round before stoppage will be held on 12–13 November. The league will resume games on 6 January. The 2015–16 Eerste Divisie, known as Jupiler League for sponsorship reasons, is the sixtieth season of Eerste Divisie since its establishment in 1955. It began in August 2015 with the first matches of the season and ended in May 2016 with the finals of the promotion/relegation play-offs, also involving the 16th- and 17th-placed teams from the 2015–16 Eredivisie. This season was the last where promotion and relegation was optional. No club was relegated to the new third-tier division Tweede Divisie (Second Division).
