Damon Hodge
Damon Hodge (born February 16, 1977) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He also was a member of the Grand Rapids Rampage, Ottawa Renegades and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He played college football at Alabama State University. Early years Hodge attended Amelia Love Johnson High School, where he practiced football and basketball. He played the trombone in the school band, before joining the football team as a senior. He received Bluechip All-American honors at the end of the season. He accepted a football scholarship from Alabama State University. As a freshman, he had 2 receptions for 34 yards. As a sophomore, he was named a starter at wide receiver, tallying 53 receptions for 737 yards, 9 touchdowns and 2 two-point conversions. Alabama State University
Alabama State University (ASU) is a public historically black university in Montgomery, Alabama. Founded in 1867, ASU is a member-school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. History Alabama State University was founded in 1867 as the Lincoln Normal School of Marion in Marion. Frankfurt Galaxy (NFL Europe)
The Frankfurt Galaxy were a professional American football team that originally played in the World League of American Football and later in the resurrected NFL Europe. The team was based in Frankfurt, Germany and played in the Commerzbank-Arena, formerly called Waldstadion. The Galaxy was the only team in the league to have remained in operation and in the same city throughout the league's existence. As of 2021, an unrelated team of the same name plays in the European League of Football. History In 1991, the Galaxy was a founding member of the World League of American Football ( WLAF). 2002 NFL Season
The 2002 NFL season was the 83rd regular season of the National Football League. The league went back to an even number of teams with the addition of the Houston Texans; the league has remained static with 32 teams since. The clubs were realigned into eight divisions, four teams in each. Also, the Chicago Bears played their home games in 2002 in Champaign, Illinois at Memorial Stadium because of the reconstruction of Soldier Field. The NFL title was won by Tampa Bay when they defeated Oakland in Super Bowl XXXVII, at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California on January 26, 2003. 2001 NFL Season
The 2001 NFL season was the 82nd regular season of the National Football League (NFL), and the first season of the 21st century. The league permanently moved the first week of the regular season to the weekend following Labor Day. In the wake of the September 11 attacks, the NFL's week 2 games (September 16 and 17) were postponed and rescheduled to the weekend of January 6 and 7, 2002. To retain the full playoff format, all playoff games, including Super Bowl XXXVI, were rescheduled one week later. The New England Patriots won the Super Bowl, defeating the St. Louis Rams 20–17 at the Louisiana Superdome. James McKnight (American Football)
James Edward McKnight (born June 17, 1972) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Seattle Seahawks, Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins and New York Giants. He played college football at Liberty University. Early years McKnight attended Apopka High School, where he lettered in football, basketball and track. He accepted a football scholarship to play for Liberty University under former NFL head coach Sam Rutigliano. He was forced to sit out his freshman season, however, due to the NCAA's Proposition 48 regulation. McKnight became a starter as a junior, registering 50 receptions for 711 yards and 5 touchdowns. In sports, the practice squad, also called the taxi squad or practice roster, is a group of players signed by a team but not part of their main roster. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style. The 2000 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur U.S. college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting.
