Damon Heta
Damon Heta (born 10 August 1987) is an Australian professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won the Brisbane Darts Masters in 2019 and also, in pair with Simon Whitlock, World Cup of Darts in 2022. His nickname is "The Heat", a play on letters within his surname. After World Cup win, his teammate Simon Whitlock regarded him as best player on the world. Career A roofer by trade, Heta has mainly played on the Dartplayers Australia (DPA) Tour. His first big exposure was qualifying for the 2014 Sydney Darts Masters, where he was whitewashed 6–0 in the first round by Dave Chisnall. Heta qualified for the 2016 Auckland Darts Masters where he lost in the first round to Michael van Gerwen 6–3. The 2020 bwin World Series of Darts Finals was the sixth staging of the World Series of Darts Finals tournament, organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. The tournament took place at the Salzburgarena, Salzburg, Austria, from 18 to 20 September 2020, with smaller, masked, socially distanced crowds. It featured a field of 24 players. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion, having defeated Danny Noppert 11–2 in the 2019 final. However, he was beaten 6–4 in the second round by Glen Durrant. Simon Whitlock
Simon Whitlock (born 3 March 1969) is an Australian professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments, having also played in the British Darts Organisation (BDO) between 2004 and 2009. He uses the nickname The Wizard for his matches. His walk-on music is "Down Under" by Men at Work. His greatest achievements to date are winning the 2012 European Championship and 2022 World Cup of Darts for Australia with Damon Heta. Whitlock has also finished runner-up at the 2008 BDO World Darts Championship and the 2010 PDC World Darts Championship. He claimed that the prize money gained from the latter tournament which included money for the highest checkout (joint with Phil Taylor) would allow him to move over to the UK from Australia and compete on the PDC Pro Tour. The 2019 Brisbane Darts Masters, in association with Pirate Life was the second staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation, as the third entry in the 2019 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (eight PDC players facing eight regional qualifiers) and was held at the BCEC in Brisbane, Australia from 9–10 August 2019. Rob Cross was the defending champion, after defeating Michael van Gerwen 11–6 in the 2018 final, but lost to Damon Heta 8–7 in the final. The 2020 PDC Pro Tour was a series of non-televised darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC). Players Championships and European Tour events are the events that make up the Pro Tour. There were 27 PDC Pro Tour events held, 23 Players Championships and 4 European Tour events. 2020 PDC Home Tour 3
The 2020 Home Tour 3 was the third tournament of the Home Tour Series organised by the Professional Darts Corporation for players to play indoor tournaments at their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic. It began on 26 October 2020 and concluded on 11 December 2020. 45 various players competed during the Home Tour 3 tournament, including Home Tour 2 winner Luke Humphries, Top-32 players like Michael Smith, Krzysztof Ratajski, Simon Whitlock, Chris Dobey, Stephen Bunting and Steve Beaton.
