Prashant Damle (born 5 April 1961) is a Marathi actor, comedian who has acted in numerous Marathi drama, movie and Soap opera over 35 years. He has been associated with Marathi theatre since 1983 and till date has performed in 27 different plays and a variety of hundreds of roles. Damle is widely recognized as the biggest ultimate superstar of Marathi theatre. In the journey of 35 years of performing arts, he has been honored with many prestigious awards. To date he has 5 Limca Book of Records in his name. He has also performed in 37 Marathi Feature Films and 24 Marathi serials. Shivrampant Damle
Captain Shivrampant Damle ( mr, शिवरामपंत दामले; April 14, 1900 in Maval – July 25, 1977 in Pune) was an Indian educationist. He is best remembered for founding the Maharashtriya Mandal in 1924. Biography Damle was born on April 14, 1900 to Vishnu (d. 1928) and Lakshmi (née Chimnatai Modak; d. 1934) of the Damle ''gharana'' of Kivale. He was one of eight children born to his parents; he had six brothers and one sister. His family was Chitpavan brahmin. Damle was educated at the Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya in Pune. He graduated with a B. A. degree from Sir Parshurambhau College before going on to found the Maharashtra Mandal in 1924, serving as its first secretary. Beginning in 1930, he served as the governor of the Maharashtra Mandal. From 1942 to 1948, he joined the British Indian Army. During World War II, he was posted in Belgaum. Vishnupant Govind Damle
Vishnupant Govind Damle (14 October 1892 – 5 July 1945) was an Indian production designer, cinematographer, film director and sound engineer for Marathi films. His 1937 film ''Sant Tukaram'' was the first Indian film to be screened at an international film festival. It won a "Special Recommendation" at the 5th Venice International Film Festival. Life Damle was born at Pen, Raigad District, Maharashtra on 14 October 1892. He learned stage painting from Anandrao Painter, Baburao Painter's cousin, with whom he co-founded the Maharashtra Film Company in 1918. He worked as a decorator, set designer, actor, cinematographer and film developer. One of his colleagues, Fattelal Sheikh, worked closely with Damle until his death. Together, they had their directorial debut with the release of the 1928 silent film ''Maharathi Karna''. Damle left the Maharashtra Film Company in 1929 and founded the Prabhat Film Company with V. Sitaram Keshav Damle
Sitaram Keshav Damle was an eminent Marathi journalist. He helped edit the newspaper Kesari. He was also the editor of Rashtramat and Rashtrodava. He founded the Young National Dramatic Company.
