Damián Albil
Damián Gonzalo Albil (born 9 February 1979) is an Argentine former football goalkeeper. Career Albil started his career with Independiente in 2000. He was part of the championship winning squad in Apertura 2002. In 2004, he joined Estudiantes de La Plata and was the unused reserve goalkeeper when they won the Apertura 2006 tournament. In 2009, he watched from the bench as Estudiantes won Copa Libertadores 2009 with Mariano Andújar in goal. Albil was the goalkeeper for Estudiantes in the final of the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup, where they lost to FC Barcelona 2-1 after extra time. In 2010, after 6 years in Estudiantes, the Argentine goalkeeper was loaned to San Lorenzo de Almagro. Lomas de Zamora is a city in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, located south of the City of Buenos Aires and within the metropolitan area of Greater Buenos Aires. It is the capital of Lomas de Zamora Partido and has a population of 111,897. Overview The city of Lomas de Zamora owes its name to Juan de Zamora, a Creole of Sevillian roots, owner of the lands in 1736. 2009 Copa Libertadores
The 2009 Copa Libertadores de América (officially the 2009 Copa Santander Libertadores de América for sponsorship reasons) was the 50th edition of the Copa Libertadores de América, CONMEBOL's premier annual international club tournament. The tournament was won by Argentine club Estudiantes de La Plata, who achieved their fourth Copa Libertadores title and first in 39 years. Since the inception of a preliminary round in 2004, they are the first club to start in that round and win the Copa Libertadores. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the ''Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''". The competition has had several formats over its lifetime. Initially, only the champions of the South American leagues participated. The 2006–07 Argentina Primera Division was the 116th season of first division football in Argentina. Estudiantes (LP) won the Torneo Apertura and San Lorenzo won the Torneo Clausura. Belgrano and Quilmes were relegated to the Primera B Nacional and Huracan and Tigre were promoted after winning the relegation playoff against Godoy Cruz and Nueva Chicago respectively. Torneo Apertura Championship playoff Boca Juniors and Estudiantes LP ended up tied in points at the end of the 19 weeks of regular season. Tournament rules establish that, unlike any other position on the table, if two or more teams are equal in points at the end of play, goal difference does not count and a playoff game is required.
