Damien Irwin
Damien Irwin (born 23 May 1969) is an Irish hurling manager and former player who played for East Cork club Killeagh. He played for the Cork senior hurling team for two seasons, during which time he usually lined out as a left wing-back. Killeagh () is a village in east County Cork, Ireland. It is approximately from Cork city, between Midleton and Youghal on the N25 national primary road. Demographics The population of Killeagh increased significantly between the 2002 census and 2016 census. The 2002 census recorded a population of 426, increasing to 521 (a 22.3% increase) by the 2006 census. By the 2016 census, the population had grown to 899. Of these, 87% were white Irish, less than 1% were white Irish travellers, 10% were other white ethnicities, 1% black, less than 1% Asian, with a similar number not stating their ethnicity. In terms of religion, Killeagh was 80% Catholic, 7% other stated religion, 12% had no religion, and less than 1% did not state a religion. 1998 Cork Senior Hurling Championship
The 1998 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 110th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening fixtures took place on 14 December 1997. The championship ended on 1 November 1998. Imokilly entered the championship as the defending champions. On 1 November 1998, Imokilly won the championship following a 1–10 to 1–05 defeat of Blackrock in the final. This was their second championship title overall and their second in succession. John Meyler
John Meyler (born 1956) is an Irish hurling manager and former selector, association footballer, Gaelic footballer and hurler who is currently the manager of the Kilmoyley senior hurling team. He has formerly managed the Kerry, Wexford, Carlow and Cork senior hurling teams. Meyler's inter-county career spanned fifteen years. Beginning as a dual minor with Wexford, he later played with the county's under-21 and senior sides. After joining the Cork senior team in 1982, Meyler won an All-Ireland medal in 1986. As a dual player with the St Finbarr's club, Meyler won seven county championship medals across both codes, dual Munster medals and an All-Ireland medal as captain of the club's football team in 1987. As a manager, selector, coach and trainer, Meyler has previously worked with club sides Kilmoyley, Ballinhassig, Courcey Rovers and Inniscarra, and inter-county teams Kerry, Wexford and Carlow. Pat Kenneally
Pat Kenneally (born 1968) is a former Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Newcestown and with the Cork senior inter-county teams in the 1990s. Kenneally captained Cork in 1995, however, he enjoyed little success with the senior team. He continued to play with the more junior teams on his club for some years after. He played in four County Finals for his club He also won the Man of the Match award when playing in the 1994 county success with his division Carbery which allowed him to achieve the honour of captaining his county in the 1995 Senior Hurling campaign. His inter county career began as a Cork minor hurler in 1986. He went on to play u21, Junior and Senior hurling as well as Junior football for Cork.
