Damien Blair
Damien Blair (born 1972/73) is the men's head basketball coach at West Chester. Early life and education Blair attended The Haverford School and was coached by Mike Mersky. As a junior, he averaged 19 points per game and earned first-team All-Inter-Ac honors. He began playing for West Chester in 1991 after being contacted by the coach and taking a visit. During his sophomore season, Blair missed a last-second shot to lose a game that, if they won, would have qualified the Golden Rams for the NCAA Division II Tournament. As a junior, he set the West Chester record for most three-pointers in a season with 125. He averaged 21.8 points per game, and had two games scoring more than 30 points. Blair was named PSAC East player of the year in 1994 and 1995. Blair finished his career as the second-leading scorer in school history with 2,025 points. West Chester Golden Rams
The West Chester Golden Rams represent West Chester University of Pennsylvania, which is located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, in intercollegiate sports. They compete in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in NCAA Division II. The university currently fields 23 varsity Division II men's and women's teams. The men's basketball team is coached by Damien Blair and won its first NCAA Division II Tournament game in 2018. In 2019–20, the team was ranked eighth and began the season on a 13-game win streak. 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2018 NCAA Division II men's basketball tournament is the 62nd annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division II college basketball in the United States. Featuring sixty-four teams, it began on March 9, and concluded with the championship game on March 24. The eight regional winners met in the Elite Eight for the quarterfinal, semifinal, and championship rounds. For the second consecutive year, the Elite Eight was held at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Qualification A total of 64 bids are available for each tournament: 24 automatic bids (awarded to the champions of the twenty-two Division II conferences) and 40 at-large bids.
