Damani Nkosi is an American rapper. Nkosi has worked with well-known artists including Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, Snoop Dogg, Pusha T and Malice of Clipse. Early life Nkosi was brought up in Inglewood, California. His father chose an African name for him. "Damani" means "be famous" and "Nkosi" means "Chief, ruler or king". He became part of Los Angeles' hip-hop underground. Career Nkosi recorded his first track in 1999. In 2001, Nkosi was featured on Kurupt's album ''Space Boogie: Smoke Odyssey''. Damani Ralph (born 6 November 1980) is a Jamaican retired footballer who played as a forward. His professional career spanned five years, two with Chicago Fire S.C. (2003–2004) and three with FC Rubin Kazan (2005–2007). He also earned 18 caps with the Jamaica national football team from 2002 to 2005. Harji Lavji Damani, better known by his pen name Shayda (24 October 1892 – 31 May 1962) was a Gujarati language poet, novelist, short-story writer and playwright from Gujarat, India. He is known as ''Ghazal Samrat'', the king of ghazal poetry, as he established the Gujarati ghazal form in Gujarati literature. Biography Damani was born on 24 October 1892 in Pipli, a village near Dhandhuka, Gujarat to Lavjibhai and Santokbahen. His family belonged to the Khoja Shia Ishna Asheri community. He studied until the fourth year. In 1912, one of his poems appeared in print for the first time in '' Bombay Samachar''. Subsequently, he started writing ghazals (traditional songs), novels, short stories and plays, including ''Kumali Kali'', which be both wrote and directed.
