Damane Zakaria
Damane Zakaria was a Central African warlord, leader of Patriotic Rally for the Renewal of the Central African Republic armed group. Biography He was born as Moustapha Maloum in Boromata in Vakaga prefecture. He belonged to Goula ethnic group. In 2006 he created Union of Democratic Forces for Unity armed group. In 2012 he joined Séléka coalition. Later he became general in Popular Front for the Rebirth of Central African Republic which formed from ex-Séléka. In 2014 he created Patriotic Rally for the Renewal of the Central African Republic as a splinter group from FPRC. He was killed on 12 February 2022 by Russian mercenaries from Wagner Group The Wagner Group (russian: Группа Вагнера, Gruppa Vagnera), also known as PMC Wagner ( «Вагнер», ChVK «Vagner»; ), is a Russian paramilitary organization. Boromata
Boromata is a village in the Vakaga Prefecture in the northern Central African Republic. History On 15 March 2008, 13 Chadian Soldiers under the command of the former chief of defense of the UFDR attacked joint UFDR-FACA forces and burned four homes in Boromata. During the attack, the joint forces managed to kill five attackers and capture four. The four prisoners were transferred to Bangui. As a result, 500 people fled to the bush. Central African Republic Civil War (2013-present) On 1 December 2020, the Misseriya Arabs militia from Central Darfur, Sudan, attacked Boromata due to the ethnic tensions between and Goula. Ouadda is a town located in the Central African Republic prefecture of Haute-Kotto. History On 10 December 2012, the rebels from Séléka seized Ouadda, as well as weapons left by fleeing soldiers. Patriotic Rally For The Renewal Of The Central African Republic
Patriotic Rally for the Renewal of the Central African Republic (RPRC, french: Rassemblement Patriotique pour le Renouveau de la Centrafrique) was an armed group in the Central African Republic based in northern part of the country, in Ouadda and Sam Ouandja in Haute-Kotto and Tiringoulou in Vakaga. History RPRC was formed in November 2014 as a split faction from FPRC armed group. It was initially based in Bria. In October 2016 RPRC created coalition together with FPRC, MPC and Anti-balaka against UPC. In June 2017, infighting broke out between RPRC and FPRC leading to distancing between those two groups. Popular Front for the Rebirth of Central African Republic (FPRC, french: Front populaire pour la renaissance de la Centrafrique) is a rebel group in the Central African Republic which controls areas of the northern part of the country, until 2021 based in N'Délé. History The FPRC was formed on 10 July 2014 in Birao, consolidating the member forces' control over the northern prefectures. They were one of the parties of the February 2019 peace deal. In September 2019, they lost control of Birao. On 17 February 2020 FPRC fighters tried to recapture Birao by attacking local MINUSCA forces. Their attack was repelled and 12 fighters were killed.
