Dalziel Park
Dalziel Park is an area located between the villages of Carfin, Cleland, North Lanarkshire, Cleland and Newarthill in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. Other nearby settlements include the large town of Motherwell and the new town of Ravenscraig. The area consists of a residential estate, a sports facility (regarded as one of the best in Scotland), a golf course and a clubhouse. It is also used as the home venue for the local rugby team Dalziel RFC, Dalziel, as well as the training ground for the local professional football team Motherwell F.C., Motherwell. History The park was established by the Dalziel War Memorial Trust, an organisation formed to offer a living memorial to the pupils and staff of the Motherwell-based Dalziel High School who lost their lives during World War I and World War II. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. Scottish Premiership
The Scottish Premiership, known as the cinch Premiership for sponsorship reasons, is the top division of the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL), the league competition for men's professional football clubs in Scotland. The Scottish Premiership was established in July 2013, after the SPFL was formed by a merger of the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Football League. Harry Hood (footballer)
Henry Anthony Hood (3 October 1944 – 26 May 2019) was a Scottish football player and manager. A forward noted for his skill, he played for Clyde (two spells), Celtic, Motherwell and Queen of the South in Scotland, Sunderland in England and San Antonio Thunder in the United States. He won eleven domestic honours with Celtic. He later managed Albion Rovers and Queen of the South, and was a businessman involved in the hospitality sector.
