Dallas Inter
The Dallas Express was an American soccer club based in Dallas, Texas that was a member of the Lone Star Soccer Alliance. The team began its existence as the Dallas Mean Green, a local, unaffiliated team which competed at the amateur level. In 1984, it won the National Amateur Cup. In 1987, The Mean Green entered the Lone Star Soccer Alliance under the name Dallas Express. They resumed their original name the next season, but in 1989, became known as F.C. Dallas. In their final season, the team was known as Dallas Inter. Lone Star Soccer Alliance was a soccer league that existed from 1987 to 1992. While most of the teams came from Texas, some also came from Oklahoma and Kansas. The National Amateur Cup, also known as the USASA Amateur Cup, is an American soccer competition open to all amateur teams affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation through United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). In 1923, U.S. Soccer established the National Amateur Cup in response to the growing number of teams entering the open National Challenge Cup (now known as the U.S. Open Cup).
