Dale Reid
Dale Reid (born 20 March 1959) is a Scottish professional golfer from Ladybank, Fife. She is one of the most successful players in the history of the Ladies European Tour, with 21 tournament victories. She topped the Order of Merit in 1984 and 1987 and was made a life member of the tour after collecting her 20th title at the 1991 Ford Classic. She played for Europe in the first four Solheim Cups (1990, 1992, 1994 and 1996) and was Europe's non-playing captain in 2000 and 2002. She worked full-time in a care home in Cupar, Fife for a short time as a social care worker, shortly after leaving this job she moved to Australia where she now resides. Reid was named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire on the 2001 Queen's New Year's Honours List, following the 2000 Solheim Cup win. Ladybank
Ladybank () is a village and former burgh of Fife, Scotland. It is about north of Edinburgh, southwest of Cupar, close to the River Eden. Its 2006 population was estimated at 1,582. History Before the 18th century, this area was mostly marshland. In 1247 Roger de Quincy, 2nd Earl of Winchester granted the monks of Lindores Abbey the right to cut peat from a peat-moss called Monegre, to which monks gave the name ''Our Lady's Bog'' (the southwestern part of the village is still called ''Monkstown''). Over time this name was shortened to ''Ladybog''. When the Edinburgh and Northern Railway was constructed in the 1840s, a junction was built here with lines heading towards Perth and Dundee. 2002 Solheim Cup
The 7th Solheim Cup Match was held between September 20 and September 22, 2002 at Interlachen Country Club, Edina, Minnesota, USA. Team USA won the trophy for the fifth time by a score of 15 to 12 points. Rosie Jones gained the winning point in her victory over Karine Icher. This was the last Solheim Cup to be held in an even-numbered year, as the next Solheim Cup would take place in 2003 and every odd-numbered year thereafter. 1984 Ladies European Tour
The 1984 Ladies European Tour was the fifth season of golf tournaments administered by the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) on behalf of the Women's Professional Golfers' Association (WPGA), which later became the Ladies European Tour (LET). In the second season of PGA administration, the tour saw the addition of several new tournaments with the format of most being changed to 72-holes stroke play, having been mostly 54 and 36-hole events previously. In total, there were 21 tournaments on the schedule, including the return of the Women's British Open, organised by the Ladies' Golf Union and one of two tournaments co-sanctioned by the LPGA Tour, along with the Ladies Irish Open. The Order of Merit was won by Dale Reid, who dominated the season with two tournament victories and five runner-up finishes. 1983 Ladies European Tour
The 1983 Ladies European Tour was the fifth season of golf tournaments organised on behalf of the Women's Professional Golfers' Association (WPGA), which later became the Ladies European Tour (LET). There were 17 tournaments on the schedule. There was a major organisational change from the end of the 1982 season, which ended with the future of the tour in doubt after several tournaments were cancelled. Following action in the High Court, the departure of executive director Barry Edwards, who was also responsible for the tour's marketing, was secured, and administration of the tour was taken over by the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA). The new executive director of the WPGA was Colin Snape, who had previously been a director at the PGA. The 1982 Ladies European Tour was the fourth season of golf tournaments organised by the Women's Professional Golfers' Association (WPGA), which later became the Ladies European Tour (LET). The Carlsberg European Ladies' Championship was a series of women's professional golf tournaments on the Ladies European Tour (LET) held throughout England, Scotland and Wales between 1979 and 1981. In 1978 Carlsberg became the main sponsor of the newly formed Women's Professional Golfers' Association (WPGA), supporting 12 tournaments in 1979, 10 in 1980 and 4 in 1981.
