Daisy Nyongesa
Daisy Kanainza Nyongesa (born 23 January 1989), is a nominated senator in the Senate of Kenya, representing the youth on an Orange Democratic Movement party (ODM) ticket. Early life and education Daisy Kanainza Nyongesa was born on 23 January 1989 in Vinyenya village, Likuyani constituency western Kenya. She went to Patrice Primary School then Silver Bells Academy where she sat her Kenya Certificate for Primary Education (KCPE) exams and proceeded to Moi Girl's Nangili. She then joined Masinde Muliro University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Education (Arts) degree in English and Literature. She holds a master's degree in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy from Moi University. Work and experience Nyongesa taught at Mang'ang'a Secondary School BOG in western Kenya where she juggled between teaching and politics. Senate Of Kenya
The Senate of the Republic of Kenya is one of the two Houses of the Parliament of Kenya, along with the National Assembly. The Senate was first established as part of Kenya's 1963 Constitution. After being abolished in 1966, the Senate was re-established by Article 93 of the new 2010 Constitution to represent counties' interests as well as pass legislation concerning counties. First Senate, 1963–1966 Kenya's 1963 Constitution established a Senate that consisted of 41 senators elected for six years, with one-third of the members retiring every two years. Orange Democratic Movement
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is a centre-left political party in Kenya. It is the successor of a grassroots people's movement which was formed during the 2005 Kenyan constitutional referendum campaign. This movement separated in August 2007 into the Orange Democratic Movement Party of Kenya and the Wiper Democratic Movement – Kenya (formerly the Orange Democratic MovementKenya, known as ODM–Kenya). The name "orange" originates from the ballot cards in the referendum, in which the banana represented a "yes" vote, and the orange represented a "no" vote. Thus, the parties demonstrates that it supported a no vote in the 2005 referendum. The original linchpins of the ODM were Uhuru Kenyatta's KANU party and Raila Odinga's LDP. Moi University is a public university located in Kesses, Eldoret town, Uasin Gishu county, in the former Rift Valley Province of Kenya. It was established in 1984 by the Moi University Act of the Parliament of Kenya, after recommendations from the McKay Commission.
