Cathee Dahmen
Catherine Helen Sachs née Cathee Dahmen (September 16, 1945 – November 25, 1997) was the first Native American supermodel in the 1960s and 1970s. She was half German, half Chippewa and was born and raised in Minnesota. Modeling career Dahmen left home at the age of 17 to live with her uncle, artist George Morrison, in Providence, Rhode Island. She was discovered in her late teens by ''The New York Times'' illustrator Antonio Lopez, who spotted her uncle's portrait of her and was ultimately responsible for her introduction into the fashion industry. Dahmen spent her peak years with Ford Models, where she was one of the agency's top earners of the 1960s. She appeared on the covers of numerous fashion magazines including, ''Harper's Bazaar'' in 1968 and both UK ''Vogue'' and ''Italia'' in 1971 She was also associated with the Youthquake movement. Janosch Dahmen (born 6 September 1981) is a German physician and politician of Alliance 90/The Greens who has been serving as a member of the Bundestag since 2020, representing the Hagen – Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis I district. Early life and education Born in Berlin, Dahmen first studied political science at University of Innsbruck for a year before moving to medicine. From 2018 until 2020, Dahmen worked as medical director of the Berlin Fire Brigade. Political career Dahmen joined Alliance 90/The Greens in 1998. From 2010 until 2018, he was part of the party's leadership in North Rhine-Westphalia, under co-chairs Sven Lehmann and Mona Neubaur. Dahmen became a member of the Bundestag in 2020 when he replaced Katja Dörner who had resigned. In parliament, he has since been serving on the Committee on Health. Karin Andrea Sabine Dahmen (born 1969) is a German condensed matter physicist whose research interests include non-equilibrium thermodynamics, critical phenomena, crackling noise, pattern formation, and quenched disorder, with wide applications of these topics to phenomena such as earthquakes, avalanches, variable stars, and population dynamics. She is a professor of physics at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. Education and career After earning a degree in physics at the University of Bonn, Dahmen completed a Ph.D. in physics at Cornell University in 1995. Wolfgang Dahmen (born 19 October 1949) is a German mathematician working in approximation theory, numerical analysis, and partial differential equations. In 2002 he was awarded the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize and in 2011 the Gauss Lectureship. He was also a taekwondo athlete. He has been the Chair of the Society for the Foundations of Computational Mathematics (2014–). Joel Isaac Dahmen (born November 11, 1987) is an American professional golfer. Amateur career Born and raised in Clarkston, Washington, Dahmen was a two-time Washington Interscholastic Activities Association 3A state golf champion at Clarkston High School. He played one year of college golf at the University of Washington in Seattle. Professional career Dahmen played on PGA Tour Canada from 2010 to 2013 without much success. In 2014, however, he won twice and won the Order of Merit to gain his Web.com Tour card for 2015. He also played three events on PGA Tour Latinoamérica in late 2014, finishing tied for second in two of them. On the Web.com Tour in 2015, Dahmen made the cut in 12 of 25 events, including three top-10 finishes. He advanced to the Web.com Tour Finals but failed to earn a PGA Tour card.
