Daganbhuiyan ( bn, দাগনভূইয়া) is an upazila of Feni District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Geography Dagonbhuiyan is located at . It has 34750 households and a total area of 165.84 km2. Demographics According to the 1991 Bangladesh census, Dagonbhuiyan then had a population of 204, 975. Males constituted 49.4% of the population, and females 50.6%. The population aged 18 or over was 95, 809. Dagonbhuiyan had an average literacy rate of 70% (7+ years), against the national average of 32.4%. Administration Daganbhuiyan Upazila is divided into Daganbhuiyan Municipality and eight union parishads: Daganbhuiyan, Jayloskor, Matubhuiyan, Purba Chandrapur, Rajapur, Ramnagar, Sindurpur, and Yeakubpur. Feni-3 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) of Bangladesh since 2019 by Masud Uddin Chowdhury of the Jatiya Party (Ershad). Abdul Awal Mintoo
Abdul Awal Mintoo (born 22 February 1949) is a Bangladeshi businessman and politician. He has been chairman or managing director of a number of organisations and groups within Bangladeshi industry. He is the former president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI). Early life Mintoo was born in a village named Aleyarpur in Feni District. He studied science at Feni Government Pilot High School in Feni where he earned his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 1964. He graduated from Comilla Victoria College in 1966 with a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC). Zahur Hossain Chowdhury
Zahur Hossain Chowdhury (died 1980) was a Bangladeshi journalist. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1981 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to journalism. Career Chowdhury started his career in the Indian newspaper The Statesman. He became the editor of The Sangbad in 1954. Other journalists like Ranesh Das Gupta, Satyen Sen, Santosh Gupta, Kamal Lohani and Mohammad Farhad also joined the Sangbad. Chowdhury also served as an editor of The Bangladesh Observer. Rahimullah Choudhury ( bn, রহিমুল্লাহ চৌধুরী) was a Bengali industrialist and politician. He was a member of the 4th National Assembly of Pakistan as a representative of East Pakistan. Abdus Salam (activist)
Abdus Salam (27 November 1925 — 7 April 1952) was a demonstrator who died during the Bengali Language Movement demonstrations which took place in the erstwhile East Bengal (currently Bangladesh), Pakistan in 1952. He is considered a martyr in Bangladesh. Early life Salam was born on 27 November 1925 in Laxmanpur (renamed 'Salam Nagar'), Matubhuiyan, Daganbhuiyan, Feni, East Bengal, British Raj. He studied in Krishnarampur Primary School, then at Matubhuiyan Kalimullah Minor School. He then joined the Daganbhuiyan Kemal Atatürk High School but dropped out at class 10 because of financial constraints. Career Salam went to Kolkata where he stayed with his cousin and her husband who worked in the Port of Kolkata. Salam was able to get a job in the port. Jatiya Party (Ershad)
The Jatiya Party ( bn, জাতীয় পার্টি, translit=Jatiyo Party, lit=National Party) is a conservative, nationalist political party in Bangladesh and is currently the main opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad, against the Awami League. The current chairman of the party is Ghulam Muhammad Quader. On 3 January 2019, the party announced its decision to join the Bangladesh Awami League-led Grand Alliance after having been in opposition for the previous parliamentary term. Masud Uddin Chowdhury is a retired lieutenant general of Bangladesh Army and a Jatiya Party (Ershad) politician. He is the former chief coordinator of the National Coordination Committee on Combating Corruption and Crime.
