''Dadayama (The Hunt)'' ( si, දඩයම) is a 1983 Sri Lankan Sinhala drama thriller film directed by Vasantha Obeysekera and co-produced by Rabbin Chandrasiri, Sunil Jayasiri and P.A Somadasa for Canfo Films. It stars Ravindra Randeniya and Swarna Mallawarachchi in lead roles along with Somy Rathnayake and Iranganie Serasinghe. Music composed by Premasiri Khemadasa. It is the 558th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. The film screened on 11 fifth circuit cinemas. Swarna Mallawarachchi
Swarna Mallawarachchi (born 1 August 1948: si, ස්වර්ණා මල්ලවාරච්චි), is an actress in Sri Lankan cinema. Often known as the "Golden star of Sinhalese cinema", Swarna began her acting career whilst still a schoolgirl, starring in the 1966 blockbuster film ''Sath Samudura'' directed by Siri Gunasinghe. During a career that spanning over 40 years, Swarna has won the 'Best Actress Award' 26 times, most by a Sri Lankan actress. Ravindra Randeniya
Liyanage Boniface Walter Perera (born 5 June 1945), popularly known by his stage name Ravindra Randeniya, is a Sri Lankan actor and former politician. He rose to fame in Lester James Peries's film ''Desa Nisa'' in 1972, and was a popular actor during the 1970s and 1980s; He won the Sarasaviya Best Actor Award in 1984 (''Dadayama''), 1985 (''Maya''), 1989 (''Sandakada Pahana''), and 1990 (''Sri Medura''). Vasantha Obeysekera
Vasantha Obeysekera (1937 – 2017), was a Sri Lankan film director and screenwriter. Early life and career Kala Keerthi Vasantha Obeysekera who was regarded as one of the foremost film makers in the 70s decade graduated from the University of Ceylon in 1962. He served on the Editorial Staff of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited from 1964 to 1970. In addition to his editorial work, Obeysekera wrote several short stories during this period. Obeysekera entered the film industry with ''Sath Samudura'' in 1967 which he co-wrote and worked on as assistant director; it was Sri Lanka's entry at the Moscow International Film Festival. Sri Lankan cinema encompasses the Sri Lankan film industry. It is a fledgling industry that has struggled to find a footing since its inauguration in 1947 with '' Kadawunu Poronduwa'' produced by S. M. Nayagam of Chitra Kala Movietone. Sri Lankan films are usually made in Sinhala and Tamil languages, the dominant languages of the country. George Rathnawali Kumarasiri Miguel (born 20 January 1931 – died 7 April 2018 as රත්නාවලී කැකුණවෙල) inhala, popularly as Rathnawali Kekunawela, was an actress in Sri Lankan cinema, theater and television. Deshamanya Kala Keerthi Dr.Premasiri Khemadasa ( Sinhala: ආචාර්ය ප්‍රේමසිරි කේමදාස ) (25 January 1937 – 24 October 2008) also known as "Khemadasa Master" was a Sri Lankan music composer. Thuiappuarachchi Don Daya de Alwis (born 7 November 1942 – died 27 April 2015 as දයා අල්විස්) inhala, popularly known as Daya Alwis, was an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, stage drama and television.
