Dabra is one of the 230 Vidhan Sabha (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of Madhya Pradesh state in central India. It is a segment of Gwalior Lok Sabha constituency. This constituency is reserved for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled castes. Overview Dabra (constituency number 19) is one of the 6 Vidhan Sabha constituencies located in Gwalior district. Presently, after the delimitation of the legislative assembly constituencies in 2008, this constituency covers the entire Dabra tehsil of the district. Before the delimitation, it covered the erstwhile Bhitarwar and Dabra R.I. Circles of the erstwhile Dabra tehsil. It is a segment of Gwalior Lok Sabha constituency. Dabra is town and a municipality in Gwalior district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India located near NH-44 national highway. It serves the headquarters for both a tehsil and a coterminous community development block. Dabra ( hi, डबरा) was also known as Padmapawaya in ancient times. Great poet Bhavabhuti had received his education at Dabra (ancient time ''Padmapawaya''). Dabra has a sugar-producing factory and is almost equidistant from New Delhi and Bhopal. 2020 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly By-elections
By-elections for twenty eight state assembly constituencies were held in Madhya Pradesh on 3 November 2020. Background In March 2020, Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with 22 Congress MLAs, defected to the BJP. This resulted in the toppling of the Kamal Nath ministry and the ascendancy of Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government. By 23 July 2020, another 3 Congress MLAs (Pradyuman Singh Lodhi (of Malhara), Sumitra Devi Kasdekar (of Nepanagar) and Narayan Patel (of Mandhata)) had resigned to join the BJP. In addition, 3 seats (Joura, Agar and Biaora) became vacant due to the deaths of their respective sitting MLAs. 2018 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
Elections to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held on 28 November 2018 to elect members of the 230 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. It is believed that the election was a direct political battle between the BJP and the INC. One of the main centers of attraction was the contest between Congress heavy-weight Arun Yadav and the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. While the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government had tried to win for consecutive 4th term, the INC fought for winning the state after 2003. 2013 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
A Legislative Assembly election was held on 25 November 2013 in Madhya Pradesh, India, with the result announced on 8 December. Along with four other state assembly elections, these were the first elections in which the Election Commission of India (ECI) implemented a "None of the above" (NOTA) voting option, allowing the electorate to register a neutral vote but not to outright reject candidates. Imarti Devi (born 14 April 1975) is an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She had served as Minister of Women and Child Development in Madhya Pradesh Government, first in Kamal Nath's Congress government from December 2018 to March 2020, and later under Shivraj Chauhan's BJP government from July 2020 to November 2020.
