''D Generation'' is the debut album by New York City glam punk band D Generation. "No Way Out" was released as a single. D Generation
D Generation (also known as DGen) are an American glam punk band formed in 1991 in New York City. They released three albums and several EPs, to much critical acclaim, before breaking up in 1999. In 2011 the band reunited for a series of shows in Europe and the United States. In 2016, the band reunited again and, on July 29, 2016, they released their fourth album, ''Nothing Is Anywhere''. Chrysalis Records () is a British record label that was founded in 1968. The name is both a reference to the pupal stage of a butterfly and a combination of its founders' names, Chris Wright and Terry Ellis. It started as the Ellis-Wright Agency. ''No Lunch'' is the second album by New York City glam punk band D Generation. It was their first for Columbia Records. The album was produced by Cars frontman Ric Ocasek. The album would prove to be D Generation's most critically acclaimed, with reviewers citing New York Dolls and Ramones as strong influences. "No Way Out," "She Stands There," and "Capital Offender" were taken from the record as singles, with promotional videos recorded and released for the first two. Tracks 3, 5, 8 and 12 are re-recorded versions of songs that appeared on their previous album. Jesse Malin
Jesse Malin (born January 26, 1967) is an American rock musician, guitarist, and songwriter. Starting his performing career in the New York hardcore band Heart Attack, and rising to prominence as vocalist of D Generation, a solo recording artist, having recorded numerous albums including the Lucinda Williams produced '' Sunset Kids''. Over the course of his career, Malin has collaborated with Bruce Springsteen, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Ryan Adams and numerous other musicians. Biography Early career Born January 26, 1967, Jesse Malin began his music career, at the age of 12, as the front-man for the seminal New York City hardcore band Heart Attack. The band auditioned at CBGBs but were denied because they couldn't bring in a drinking crowd to the bar.
