''DX'' is the only studio album by American hip hop record production duo Friendzone (duo), Friendzone. It was released on October 9, 2013. A music video was created for "Poly". In an interview with ''Fact (UK magazine), Fact'', James Laurence said, "''DX'' is an album 100%, this is our heart and soul." Dylan Reznick said, "I wanted to make an album that would make people's heads spin, make them rethink their ideas about music a little." Critical reception ''Fact (UK magazine), Fact'' placed the album at number 47 on the "50 Best Albums of 2013" list. Writing for ''Fact'', John Twells described it as "the most distilled example of their sound – a sunny, hopeful fusion of 16-bit melodies, anime joy, IDM fuzz and Atlanta beats." Friendzone (duo)
Friendzone was an American instrumental hip hop duo based in East Bay, California. It consisted of producers James Laurence and Dylan Reznick. On January 30, 2017, it was announced that James Laurence had died at the age of 27 from undisclosed circumstances. History Friendzone produced Main Attrakionz' "Chuch" and "Perfect Skies", which were featured on the 2011 mixtape ''808s & Dark Grapes II''. In 2012, the duo released ''Collection I'', a compilation of rap instrumentals and original songs. In 2013, Friendzone landed their first major label placement, producing the song "Fashion Killa" for ASAP Rocky, which appeared on his debut album ''Long. Live. ASAP'', and also released the compilation ''Kuchibiru Network 3'', which included contributions by several notable producers including Ryan Hemsworth, Skywlkr, DJ Kenn, and Jerome LOL. Instrumental Hip Hop
Hip hop production is the creation of hip hop music in a recording studio.
