DXMJ-TV, Channel 5 (analog) and Channel 37 (digital), is a commercial television station owned and operated by GMA Network Inc. Its studios, the analog and digital transmitter are located at GMA Complex, Broadcast Ave., Shrine Hills, Matina, Davao City. GMA Davao is the main regional hub for the network's Mindanao region, comprising the Davao-based station, semi-satellites in Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga, parts of Northern and South Central Mindanao including General Santos, and most of Caraga region. History In 1965, DXSS-TV began broadcasting on channel 7. It was owned by the Southern Broadcasting Network and affiliated with the Republic Broadcasting System, GMA's predecessor.
