DWAN-AM
DWAN (1206 AM) was a radio station owned and operated by the Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation. History The station was established in 1973 by Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation, a company owned by the late Marcos crony Roberto Benedicto, on 1160 AM under the call letters DWWA. In November 1978, it transferred its frequency to 1206 AM, in response to the adoption of the 9 kHz spacing on AM radio stations in the Philippines under the Geneva Frequency Plan of 1975. In 1984, it changed its call letters to DWAN. When BBC was dissolved after the 1986 EDSA Revolution, ownership of the station was transferred to the Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation. By this time, it was located in Broadcast City. In 1996, DWAN returned to air, this time under the management of Bubby Dacer's Asia Pacific News and Features. MMDA TV
MMDA TeleRadyo was the official radio program of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. It gave traffic updates and news about the agency together through its radio station DWAN. The studios and facilities were located at EDSA, Makati. It was aired on channel 4 on Global Destiny Cable (now Destiny Cable). MMDA TeleRadyo and DWAN-AM permanently ceased operations on August 17, 2010, in order to cost-cutting measures. Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation
The Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) was a Philippine television network that began operations on November 4, 1973, and ceased transmission on March 20, 1986. The network was well-remembered for its theme song, "Big Beautiful Country", composed by José Mari Chan and sung by Chan with Basil Valdez, Tillie Moreno, Alice Bell and Nonong Pedero. Broadcast City was the headquarters and broadcast complex of the television and radio networks owned by Roberto Benedicto, namely - Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Radio Philippines Network (RPN) and Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation (IBC). It was located at Old Balara, Capitol Hills, Diliman, Quezon City and served as the three network's main television and radio production center and main transmission facility. Typhoon Conson, known in the Philippines as Typhoon Basyang, was the second tropical cyclone during the 2010 Pacific typhoon season to impact the Philippines. Developing out of a tropical disturbance east of the Philippines on July 11, 2010, Conson quickly developed as it tracked nearly due west.
