''DSU'' is the fifth studio album by American musician Alex G, released on June 17, 2014, through Orchid Tapes. Title The title of the album is an acronym of ''Dream State University''. It is derived from a comment Giannascoli's older sister, Rachel, had made. Alexander Giannascoli (born February 3, 1993), better known by his stage names Alex G or, formerly, (Sandy) Alex G, is an American musician, producer, and singer-songwriter. He started his career with DIY self-releases on Bandcamp and began building up an audience with his label debut, '' DSU'' (2014), released on Orchid Tapes to critical acclaim from various publications. He later signed with Lucky Number, who reissued his earlier releases, ''Rules'' and ''Trick'' (2012). In 2015, he signed with Domino Recording Company and released his sixth studio album, '' Beach Music''. He followed it in 2017 with '' Rocket'', which received further acclaim and recognition. Giannascoli's eighth studio album, '' House of Sugar'', was released in 2019, and his ninth album '' God Save the Animals'' was released on September 23, 2022. Rough Trade (shops)
Rough Trade is a group of independent record shops in the United Kingdom and the United States with headquarters in London. The first Rough Trade shop was opened in 1976 by Geoff Travis in the Ladbroke Grove district of West London. Travis reportedly took the name from the Canadian art punk/ new wave band Rough Trade. In 1978, the shop spawned Rough Trade Records, which became the label of bands from The Smiths to The Libertines. In 1982, the two separated and the shop remains an independent entity from the label, although links between the two are strong. At the same time, the shop moved from its original location on Kensington Park Road round the corner to Talbot Road. In 1988, a shop opened in Neal's Yard, Covent Garden. At various times there were also shops in San Francisco (on Grant St., then Sixth Street, then Haight Street and finally 3rd and Townsend Streets), Tokyo and Paris.
