DR Congo A' National Football Team
The DR Congo A' national team is the local national football team of the DR Congo (formerly Zaire, alternatively known as Congo-Kinshasa) and is open only to domestic league players. The team represents DR Congo at the African Nations Championship and is governed by the Congolese Association Football Federation. They are nicknamed ''The Leopards''. DR Congo won the maiden African Nations Championship hosted by Ivory Coast in 2009 and repeated the feat at the 2016 tournament. Since 2014, all DR Congo A' team matches have been recognized by FIFA as first team matches. Congolese Association Football Federation
The Congolese Association Football Federation (french: Fédération Congolaise de Football-Association, FECOFA) is the governing body of Football (soccer), football in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was founded in 1919 and affiliated to the FIFA in 1964 and Confederation of African Football, CAF in 1964. It organizes the national football league Linafoot and the Congo DR national football team, national team. The organisation was previously named the Zairian Association Football Federation (french: Fédération Zaïroise de Football Association, FEZAFA) while the country was known as Zaire. In September 2021, the General Inspectorate of Finance claims to have foiled an attempt to embezzle public funds. 2020 African Nations Championship
The 2020 African Nations Championship, known as the Total African Nations Championship (also referred to as CHAN 2020) was the 6th edition of the African Nations Championship, a biennial football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) exclusively featuring players from the respective national championships. The tournament was held in Cameroon from 16 January to 7 February 2021. Originally it was scheduled to be played from 4 to 25 April 2020. However, CAF announced on 17 March 2020 that the tournament had been postponed to a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 30 June, CAF announced that the tournament would be rescheduled to January 2021. Ethiopia were formerly awarded as host of the tournament, but the EFF admitted it was not ready to host this competition, and hosting rights were awarded to Cameroon instead.
