DLR Waves
Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown Waves, also referred to as DLR Waves is an Irish association football club based in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown. It was originally founded in 2012. The club enters teams in the FAI Women's Cup and the Women's National League. Between 2014 and 2018, following a merger, with UCD, the club played as UCD Waves. However in 2018 UCD withdrew from the WNL. DLR Waves was subsequently revived as a separate club, taking UCD Waves' place in the WNL. History Early years The 2012–13 season saw DLR Waves join the Women's National League as an expansion team. The club was formed with the support of the Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown County Council and they played their home games at Jackson Park, Kilternan. DLR Waves were managed by former UCD coach, Larry Mahony, and their squad featured former UCD captain Sylvia Gee. Initially DLR Waves had mixed success in the WNL. John Sullivan (Irish Footballer)
John Sullivan (born 6 January 1991) is an Irish association football coach and former professional player who is the first team coach at Women's National League club DLR Waves. Career Sullivan signed for Hamilton Academical on 2 January 2009 from Irish side Bohemians. He made his professional debut on 26 December 2009, in a Scottish Premier League match against Celtic. Sullivan left Hamilton at the end of the 2009–10 season to return to Ireland, spending the 2010 season with Limerick, before moving to Shelbourne in time for the 2011 season. Sullivan left Shelbourne on 30 July 2012. Sullivan signed for Dundalk on 8 January 2013. On 12 December 2015, Sullivan signed for Galway United for the 2016 season. Eve Badana
Eve Martha Badana (born 9 July 1993) is a footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Irish Women's National League club DLR Waves. She previously played for Cork City while attending University College Cork. Born and raised in Canada to a Filipino father and a Northern Irish mother, Badana has represented Canada and the Republic of Ireland at under-17 and senior levels, respectively. Jessica Gleeson
Jessica Gleeson (born 23 October 1993) is an Irish footballer who plays as a defender for Women's National League club DLR Waves. She previously played for Wexford Youths and Shelbourne. Since making her debut in 2015 she has been a member of the Republic of Ireland women's national team. Her younger brother Austin Gleeson has represented the Waterford county hurling team. Sylvia Gee
Sylvia Gee (born 30 November 1977) is a former Republic of Ireland women's international footballer who has spent the majority of her career playing in various women's association football leagues in the Republic of Ireland and the United States. Between 2003 and 2007, Gee was a prominent member and captain of the successful UCD team which qualified for the UEFA Women's Cup on three successive occasions.
