It was the first postwar car produced by the firm, though it utilized the F8 chassis design of 1939–1942, albeit slightly modified. The Baur coachbuilding firm of Stuttgart supplied the bodies, which were more modern than those normally seen on 1939-1942 F8 models. A total of 22 F10 chassis were produced at the very end of 1949, with 174 being completed during the first half of 1950. The chassis were delivered to Baur starting in January 1950, and all cars were completed and sold that year. Ingolstadt
Ingolstadt (, Austro-Bavarian: ) is an independent city on the Danube in Upper Bavaria with 139,553 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2022). Around half a million people live in the metropolitan area. DKW F8

The base model, known as the Reichsklasse, was manufactured only till 1940 but the Meisterklasse sedan continued in production until 1942. In addition to the saloons, cabriolet versions were offered. The "F" in the car's name stood for "Front" which referred to its front wheel drive configuration. Although in retrospect it is almost always identified as the "F8" which distinguishes it from the "F7" which preceded it and from the "F9" which was intended to replace it, the manufacturer's publicity material from 1939 calls it simply the "DKW Front". The DKW Meisterklasse (English: "Master Class"), also known as the DKW F89, is a compact car, compact front-wheel drive automobile, saloon manufactured by ''Auto Union Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung, GmbH'' between 1950 and 1954. It was the first passenger car to be manufactured by the new Auto Union company in West Germany following the re-establishment of the business in the west in 1949. The Factory Apart from the former DKW factory at Berlin-Spandau, the Auto Union’s manufacturing plants had been located in Saxony at Zwickau, Chemnitz and Zschopau when Second World War, war had put an end to passenger vehicle production in 1942. After the war the company was no longer able to access its production facilities in the Soviet occupation zone.
