Hall & Oates
Daryl Hall & John Oates, commonly known as Hall & Oates, were an American Rock music, rock duo formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1970. Daryl Hall was generally the lead vocalist, while John Oates primarily supplied electric guitar and backing vocals. The two wrote most of the songs they performed, either separately or in collaboration. They achieved their greatest fame from the mid-1970s to the late 1980s with a fusion of rock music, soul music, and rhythm and blues. Though they are commonly referred to by only their surnames, the duo's official and preferred title included the members' first names. They have been credited on albums as Daryl Hall & John Oates (or Daryl Hall John Oates) on all of their US releases.
