DJ Fita
Kelvin Peter Wanjohi (born 21 August 1994) professionally known as DJ Fita, is a Kenyan DJ, music producer and music journalist from Thika. He is best known for remixing Kenyan pop music into upbeat electronic dance music. DJ Fita is also a member of Fitemba. He was nominated for the '' VJ of the Year 2015'' during the annual Stylus DJ Awards. Early life and education DJ Fita was born in Makongeni Estate Thika. He graduated with a diploma in IT from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology and a degree in Information Security & Forensics from KCA University. Thika
Thika Thika (pronounced [ˈθika]) is an industrial town and a major commerce hub in Kiambu County, Kenya, lying on the A2 road 42 kilometres (26 mi) Northeast of Nairobi, near the confluence of the Thika and Chania Rivers. Although Thika town is administratively in Kiambu County, the greater area comprises residential areas such as Bendor estate, Maporomoko, Thika Greens, Thika Golden Pearl, Bahati Ridge, and Thika Sports Club, among others that are within Murang'a County. Benga Music
Benga is a musical genre, genre of Kenyan popular music. It evolved between the late 1940s and late 1960s, in Kenya's capital city of Nairobi. In the 1940s, the African Broadcasting Service in Nairobi aired a steady stream of soukous, South African kwela, Soukous, Congolese Fingerpicking, finger-style guitar and various kinds of Cuban dance music that heavily influenced emergence of benga. There were also popular folk songs of Kenya's Luo (family of ethnic groups), Luo peoples that formed the base on benga creation. Luo Benga The Luo of Kenya have long played an eight-string lyre called ''nyatiti'', and guitarists from the area sought to imitate the instrument's syncopation, syncopated melody, melodies. The music of Kenya is very diverse, with multiple types of folk music based on the variety over 50 regional languages. Stella Mwangi
Stella Nyambura Mwangi (born 1 September 1986) is a Kenyan-Norwegian singer, rapper and songwriter. Much of her music concerns the situation in her home country Kenya, and discrimination her family had to endure after moving to Norway in 1991. Her work has been used in films such as '' American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile'' and ''Save the Last Dance 2'', and also in TV-series such as ''CSI: NY'' and '' Scrubs''.
