Rob Bakker, better known by his stage name Muneshine, is a Canadian recording artist, record producer, DJ and mix engineer and performer. Since 2005, Muneshine has released three major label projects in Japan, and contributed production and vocal appearances on more. His sales in this territory exceed 40,000 units His first release (Phocus – A Vision and a Plan) debuted on HMV Japan's hip hop charts at No. 8. ''Jonestown'' is an album by Canadian hip hop artist D-Sisive. Released in 2009, the album was D-Sisive's second full-length release that year after ''Let the Children Die'', and was made available for a free digital download. The album art features a jug of Kool-Aid, an allusion to the phrase "drinking the Kool-Aid", which is associated with the 1978 Jonestown mass murder–suicide. Matt Ford, better known as DJ Format (a near-inversion of his birth name), is a hip hop DJ born in Southampton, England who lives in Brighton. He collaborates frequently with Abdominal on the album '' Music For the Mature B-Boy'' and with Abdominal and fellow Canadian rapper D-Sisive on the second full album '' If You Can't Join 'Em… Beat 'Em'', as well as with Akil and Chali 2na from Jurassic 5. Career As a youth, Ford's first hip hop influences included A Tribe Called Quest and Main Source to name a few. One of his first releases was The Underground Strikes Back by Suspekt (Move. SOCAN Songwriting Prize
The SOCAN Songwriting Prize, formerly known as the ECHO Songwriting Prize, is an annual competition recognizing the best in Canadian emerging music, both anglophone and francophone. Established in 2006, the competition was designed to recognize some of the most innovative, creative and artistic songs created in the year preceding the award by emerging songwriters in Canada. Songs are selected by a competition panel composed of 10 music experts from the Canadian music scene, who each nominate two songs based on a set of criteria they believe are the best songs by emerging artists from the past year. The songs are narrowed down to a set of 10 finalists and announced publicly. Fans then vote for the winner over the course of two weeks in June. Stuart Stone (born Stuart Eisenstein) is a Canadian film, television, and voice-over actor as well as a producer of television, film and music. Andrew Bernstein (born February 7, 1974), better known by his stage name Abdominal, is a rapper from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Biography Andy Bernstein grew up in Toronto and attended Northern Secondary School in the late 80s and early 90s, gaining a reputation there for his cartoons and graphic design work. Using the name Abdominal, he formed his first rap crew with DJ Serious and Scott C. called Rushholme and they started recording tracks. A chance meeting in 1998 with DJ Fase led to them teaming up as Abs & Fase. They began recording and released the limited single "Vinyl Frontier".
