Czterdziestolatek
Czterdziestolatek or 40-latek (English: ''The Forty-Year-Old''); broadcast in English by TVP Polonia as ''Being Forty'' is a Polish television comedy series originally broadcast in Poland between 1975-78. The initial series enjoyed so much popularity that it was continued and led to the release of a feature film ''I'm a Butterfly, a 40-year-old's Love Affair'' and a New Year's Eve television program in 1975. The series was written by Jerzy Gruza and Krzysztof Teodor Toeplitz and was broadcast on Telewizja Polska. In total, 21 episodes were produced. The series followed the fate of a Warsaw family and explored topics related to midlife crisis, such as extra-marital affairs, attempts to quit smoking, obsession with hair loss, efforts to maintain physical fitness, pride in achievements and professional life, the desire to seek self-fulfillment through social activities, etc. 20 years later the series was remade in the mid-1990s with a cast that included Joanna Kurowska, Wojciech ...

Irena Kwiatkowska
Irena Kwiatkowska (17 September 19123 March 2011) was a popular Polish actress, known in Poland for her many cabaret roles and monologues, as well as appearances in (mostly comedy) movies and television shows. Life Kwiatkowska graduated from the Państwowy Instytut Sztuki Teatralnej (National Theatrical Arts Institute) in 1935. Until the outbreak of World War II, she appeared in the Teatr Powszechny in Warsaw, Teatr Nowy in Poznań, Teatr Polski in Katowice, and in Wilno. During the War, she fought in the Armia Krajowa and participated in the Warsaw Uprising. Kwiatkowska's first appearance after the War was in the Siedem Kotów (Seven Cats) cabaret in Kraków, where the renowned Polish poet, Konstanty Ildefons Gałczyński, authored a number of roles for her. Gałczyński allegedly created the prominent character of Hermenegilda Kociubińska with Kwiatkowska in mind. Stanisław Tym
Stanisław Tym (born 17 July 1937 in Małkinia) is a Polish, actor, comedian, journalist and satirist, as well as a film and theatre director and writer. He coproduced and starred in many films of Stanisław Bareja, he gained much fame for his performance in the cult film of Marek Piwowski, ''Rejs'' (''The Cruise''). Katarzyna Łaniewska
Katarzyna Janina Łaniewska-Błaszczak (20 June 1933 – 7 December 2020) was a Polish theatre and film actress, opposition activist in the Polish People's Republic, and a political activist since 1989. Biography Both of Katarzyna Łaniewska's parents came from Łódź. Her father was an activist of the co-operative movement and a Polish legionnaire during World War I, who was considered a "dangerous element" by the Nazis and murdered at Auschwitz after he was denounced by a colleague of Belarusian origin. Along with her mother and siblings, she survived the Warsaw Uprising, and was sent to the transit camp in Pruszków. Łaniewska and her family returned to Warsaw on 17 January 1945. Anna Seniuk
Anna Seniuk (born 17 November 1942, in Stanisławów) is a Polish actress. After World War II, together with other Poles from Stanisławów, she was forced by the Soviet government to leave her hometown, settling in the town of Zator, near Oświęcim. In 1964 Seniuk graduated from Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Teatralna (Academy for the Dramatic Arts) in Kraków and debuted in the renowned Helena Modrzejewska (Old Theatre). In the early 1970s, she moved to Warsaw, where she played in several theatres. Since 2003, she has been working there at the National Theatre. Roman Kłosowski (14 February 1929 – 11 June 2018) was a Polish character actor and stage director. Biography He was born on February 14, 1929, in Biała Podlaska. Graduate of the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art's Faculty of Acting (1953) and Faculty of Directing (1965). He made his theater debut on September 1, 1953. Janusz Kłosiński
Janusz Kłosiński (19 November 1920 – 8 November 2017) was a Polish film and theatre actor. Biography In 1948 he graduated from The Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw, which was located in his hometown of Łódź at the time. Beginning in 1947, Kłosiński performed in theaters in Łódź, and, from 1964 to 1970, was the director of the New Theatre in Łódź. Beginning 1970 in Warsaw, among others, he was a member of the National Theatre in Warsaw. He was also a member of the PZPR, including also being a Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of the Company at the National Theatre. Shortly after the introduction of martial law in Poland, Kłosiński openly supported the decision of the authorities at the time, even on public television. Ryszard Pietruski
Ryszard Pietruski (born 7 October 1922 in Wyszecino near Wejherowo, died 14 September 1996 in Warsaw) was a Polish theatre and film actor. Biography He spent his childhood and early days in Lviv. He was a student of the III State High School and Gymnasium in the name of King Stefan Batory in Lviv (in Polish ''Państwowego III Gimnazjum Męskiego im. Króla Stefana Batorego''). During the war he worked in Lviv as a waiter in a restaurant. In 1944, after the second occupation of Lviv by the Red Army, he joined the Polish Army and fought as a soldier in the 4th Infantry Division. He participated in the liberation of Warsaw and in the battle of Kolobrzeg, among other events. Some biographical notes indicate that he also took part in the Battle of Lenino, although it is doubtful, given that the battle of Lenino took place in October 1943, and Ryszard Pietruski began service in LWP only in 1944.
