Czech Basketball Federation
The Czech Basketball Federation ( cs, Česká basketbalová federace), also known as (ČBF) is the governing body of basketball in the Czech Republic. It was founded after the dissolution of the unified state in 1993, with the Slovakia national basketball team continuing as the successor of the Czechoslovak team. They organize national competitions in the Czech Republic for the Czech men's national team and Czech women's national team. The top level professional league is the National Basketball League. The International Basketball Federation (FIBA ; French: ) is an association of national organizations which governs the sport of basketball worldwide. Originally known as the (hence FIBA), in 1989 it dropped the word ''amateur'' from its name but retained the acronym. FIBA Europe is the administrative body for basketball in Europe, within the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), which includes all 50 national European basketball federations. Slovakia National Basketball Team
The Slovakia men's national basketball team ( sk, Slovenské národné basketbalové mužstvo) represents Slovakia in international basketball competition. The supervising body is the Slovak Basketball Association (SBA). Slovakia is one of the newest national basketball teams in the world, having split from Czechoslovakia following the dissolution of the unified state in 1993. The Czech Republic National Basketball League (NBL) ( cs, Národní Basketbalová Liga) is the top-tier level professional basketball league in the Czech Republic. Basketball in the Czech Republic is organized by Czech Basketball Federation ( ČBF) ( cs, Česká basketbalová federace). The top professional Czech basketball league is Mattoni National Basketball League ( cs, Mattoni Národní basketbalová liga). Participating in the competition are 12 clubs and the season lasts 9 months. The current champion is ERA Basketball Nymburk (season 2021/2022). The Czech basketball champion participates in FIBA Europe EuroCup, against top teams in FIBA Europe EuroCup Challenge. The top women's Czech basketball league is Women's Basketball League ( cs, Ženská basketbalová liga). There are 10 teams participating in this competition.
