Cyril Nichols
Cyril Nichols is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives from the 32nd district since April 8, 2021. Nichols was appointed on April 8, 2021, to fill the seat of former state Representative Andre Thapedi after Thapedi resigned on March 17, 2021. Nichols dropped out of the 2024 Democratic primary for re-nomination, leaving Lisa Davis, an assistant public defender, the sole candidate in the primary. Andre Thapedi
André Thapedi was a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 32nd District from 2009 to 2021. During his tenure, the 32nd district included all or portions of Auburn Gresham, Chicago Lawn, Ashburn, Chatham and West Englewood as well as portions of suburban Justice and Hickory Hills. Early life and career Thapedi is the son of Chicago neurosurgeon Isaac Martin Thapedi and retired Cook County judge Llwellyn Thapedi. The Illinois General Assembly is the legislature of the U.S. state of Illinois. It has two chambers, the Illinois House of Representatives and the Illinois Senate.
